학습자 요구와 만족도 조사에서 나타난 대학 글쓰기 교육의 방향 고찰

A study on the Right Direction of the Writing Education of University through Satisfaction Survey and Learners’ Demands

본 연구는 S여대 교양필수 교과인 글쓰기 수업을 이수한 학생들의 설문조사와 강의평가 내용분석을 통해 학습자의 요구를 고려한 대학 글쓰기교육의 방향을 제안한 경험적 고찰이다. 먼저 기초교양대학 차원에서 진행된 교양필수 교과 전체에 대한 설문조사 결과를 분석하였다. 또한 본 연구자에게 글쓰기 수업을 들었던 학생들의 2016년도 2학기 강의평가 서술식 답변내용을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 대학생들의 글쓰기에 대한 관심과 역량을 개발하는데 특히 어떠한 교수학습방법이 효과적인지를 살펴보고 다섯 가지 방향을 제안하였다. 첫째 학습자의 능력에 맞는 수준별 편차를 고려한 글쓰기 교육을 실시해야 한다. 둘째 학생들이 관심과 진로에 따라 지속적으로 글쓰기를 훈련해 갈 수 있는 트랙별 심화과정을 마련해야 한다. 셋째 학생들의 문제의식을 개발하기 위해 자유로운 학습 분위기와 문제해결형 글쓰기를 지향해야 한다. 넷째 다양한 텍스트와 매체를 활용한 온라인-오프라인 교육이 병행되어야 한다. 다섯째 읽기, 생각나누기, 쓰기, 피드백 활동이 결합된 협동학습 방식의 글쓰기 교육 모듈을 개발해야 한다. 결론적으로 본 연구에서 확인할 수 있었던 점은 교재나 콘텐츠보다 교수자의 관심과 즉각적인 피드백이 학생들의 글쓰기 교육에 대한 학습 동기에 결정적이라는 사실이었다. 학생들의 글쓰기 능력을 키워주는 교육이 되기 위해서는 학습자의 구체적인 필요와 의견을 반영하고 온라인-오프라인에서, 강의실 안팎을 넘나들며 지속적으로 소통하는 교수자의 역할과 학습 과정이 활성화되어야 한다.

This research is an empirical study suggests the right direction of writing education of university considering learners’ demands through lecture evaluations, and surveys by students who took the writing class in compulsory liberal arts education programs by “S” women’s university. First of all, I analyzed survey results on all of compulsory liberal arts curriculums which were operated as a basic liberal arts education. And I analyzed narrative style lecture evaluations by students who took the writing class opened and taught by myself in fall semester of the year 2016. After an analysis about which teaching-learning methods are effective for developing students’ capabilities and interests, I suggested five effective ways of writing education. 1) The writing education should be done considering each learner’s level difference. 2) Intensive courses by each track should be prepared for students to keep training their writing, according to their interests and career paths. 3) A free learning atmosphere and problem-solving writing should be formed to develop students’ creativeness and critical mind. 4) On and Off educations utilizing various texts and media should be paralleled. 5) As an a cooperative learning method in operating writing class, applying a teaching-learning module combined with reading, idea sharing, writing, and feedback is effective. In conclusion, this research found professor’s interest and feedback to students’ learning motivations on the writing education are more crucial than text books and contents of the class. In order to be an education that raises students’ writing capabilities, the class should consider learners’ opinions and demands, and continuous communication procedure should be invigorated in online-offline and in inside-outside of class.
