Analysis of Writing Process of College Students - Focusing on Writing Workshop

이 연구에서는 대학교 3학년 학생들을 대상으로 글쓰기 워크숍 활동을 실시한 후 글쓰기의 과정을 분석하였다. 그 결과 다음과 같은 결론과 시사점을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 학생들의 글쓰기 과정은 개개인별로 매우 다양한 회기적 사이클을 형성하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학생들의 글쓰기 과정은 글쓰기에 대한 학생들의 배경지식이나 태도에 따라 다른 양상을 보였다. 셋째, 학생들의 글쓰기 과정은 주제나 장르에 따라 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 글쓰기 과정 중에서 계획하기와 수정하기가 글쓰기의 질을 향상시키는 데 매우 중요하다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 다섯째, 동료와 교수자의 피드백이 학생들의 글쓰기 과정에 큰 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이 연구의 결과를 통해서 보면 과정 중심의 접근, 사회적 상호작용, 필자의 선택 존중 등과 같은 글쓰기 워크숍의 교실 환경이 학생들의 글쓰기 과정을 활성화하는 데 긍정적 영향을 미쳤음을 알 수 있다.

In this study, we analyzed the writing process after the writing workshop activities for the third grade students of college. As a result, the following conclusions and implications were obtained. First, it appears that students’ writing process forms a very diverse cycle of events for each individual. Second, the writing process of students showed a different pattern according to students’ background knowledge and attitude about writing. Third, the writing process of students was influenced by subject and genre. Fourth, it was confirmed that planning and revising in writing process is very important for improving writing quality. Fifth, feedback from colleagues and teachers has a significant effect on students’ writing process. The results of this study show that the classroom environment of writing workshops such as process-centered approach, social interaction, and students’ choice influenced students’ writing process.
