A Study on Instructional Model of Structuring Functional Integration Course in Korean for Academic Purposes

본 연구는 국내 대학에 입학한 외국인 유학생 대상 학문목적한국어 교육의기능 통합과 장르 지식 수렴을 위한 수업 모형 제시에 목적이 있다. 특히 유학생 대상 한국어 글쓰기 교재를 개발한 후, 그 적용을 위한 과정에 있는 S대학의 수업 모형을 중심으로 그 문제점과 함께 새로운 수업 모형을 개선함을 부차적 목적으로 삼았다. 무엇보다도 학문목적한국어의 수요자가 지속적으로 증가하는 추세에 있고, 이들을 위한 교육 방법에 대한 연구가 이어지고 있음에도 불구하고, 실제학문적 목적을 수행하는 데 필요한 기능통합적 교육 모형을 제시하는 연구의필요성이 커지고 있다는 현실에서 본 연구는 의의를 지닐 것이다. 이에 본고에서는 기존의 선행 연구 분석과 학문목적으로 개발된 교재를 분석하고, 이교재를 시험적으로 사용한 교수자와 학생의 설문 결과를 분석한 내용을 기반으로 하여 기능 통합과 장르 지식 수렴을 위한 교육 모형을 제안하였다. 상세하게는 스키마를 활성화하고 텍스트의 형식과 장르를 이해하는 단계, 이를 선택하고 재구성하는 연습을 수행하는 단계, 텍스트를 구성하는 연습을수행하여 마지막에 텍스를 생산해 내는 통합적 과제를 수행하는 모형을 설계하여 그것을 수업에 활용하는 방안을 제안하고자 하였다.

This study primarily aims to integrate the functions of Korean for Academic purposes course for foreign students in Korean Universities and to suggest instructional model for knowledge convergence from various areas. In addition, the secondary aim of this study is to diagnose the problems which had emerged from the Korean for academic purposes course using S university’s writing materials and to improve these problems. Given that the need for academic purpose Korean courses is consistently increasing, it is very valuable to suggest functional integration course model which can contribute to perform the actual academic purpose though a lot of related studies are carried. Therefore, it firstly analyzes the existing research and the textbooks for academic purposes, secondly proposes an educational model for functional integration and genre knowledge convergence through survey results of professors and students who used this textbook as a test. Specifically, this study suggests a model, 1) activating schema and understanding the format and genre of texts, 2) identifying the schema and format and genre of texts and practicing to reconstruct the texts, and 3) performing integrated task such as producing texts at the end.
