대학 기초･교양교육에서 읽기-쓰기 통합 교육의 구성과 활용 방안

A Study on the Formation and Application of Integrated Education through ‘Reading and Writing’ in Basic and Liberal Education

최근, 대학의 기초･교양교육에서 의사소통 영역의 중심을 이루는 ‘읽기(독서)’나 ‘쓰기(작문)’ 과목은 연계･통합 형태로 운영되고 있다. 또한, 읽기와 쓰기 교육은 말하기(토론) 수업과 결합하여 ‘읽기(독서)-말하기(토론)-쓰기(작문)’가 통합된 과목으로 운영되기도 한다. 이제 국내의 많은 대학에서 ‘읽기’ 와 ‘말하기’와 ‘쓰기’는 학문 간 의사소통 교육의 바탕을 이루면서 독립된 과목, 또는 연계･통합된 형태로 개설되어 기초･교양교육의 중심을 이루는 교과목으로 운영되고 있다. 대학 기초･교양교육으로서 읽기와 쓰기 교육의 질적인 제고를 위해서는‘쓰기와 말하기’, ‘읽기와 쓰기’가 연계되고 통합된 교수학습 방법을 여러 각도에서 모색하고 한층 혁신해나가야 할 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 글을 쓰는 과정이 언제나 그 준비 단계로서 자료 탐색과 읽기 과정을 떼어놓고 생각할 없다는 여러 연구 결과를 인용하지 않더라도, 대학에서의 읽기-쓰기 수업은초･중등 과정과 차원을 달리하여 텍스트에 대한 수준 높은 이해력 및 그에관한 창의적 내용을 표현할 수 있도록 구성되고 실천되어야 한다. 글을 쓰는과정에서 학생들은 기본적으로 수준 높은 텍스트를 찾아 읽고, 그 텍스트 내용에서 문제를 발견하여 해결책을 논리적으로 구성하여 과제에 반영하는 능력을 갖추어야만 대학 과정에서 요구되는 학술적 글쓰기를 창의적으로 수행해낼 수 있기 때문이다. 국내 대학의 ‘읽기-쓰기’에 관한 교육적 상황을 고려할 때 기초･교양교육과정에 적합한 ‘읽기-쓰기’ 강좌를 도입하여 운영하기 위해서는 이에 관한세밀한 연구에 기반을 둔 교육 내용과 방법의 고안, 그리고 이러한 교육 과정을 충분히 실천할 수 있는 교육지원 프로그램을 개발하여 실행하는 일이 중요하다. 다시 말해, 4차 산업혁명의 과학기술 담론이 빠르게 확산되고 있는 상황과 함께 여전히 창의적 인문교육의 중요성이 강조되고 있는 오늘의 대학기초･교양교육 현실에서 읽기와 쓰기 교육 전반의 새로운 도약과 질적 발전을 위해서는 다른 무엇보다도 세계의 현실과 삶의 인문적 가치에 대한 근본적질문을 제기하고 탐구하는 보편적 텍스트로서 고전･명저 텍스트를 활용한‘읽기-쓰기’의 통합 교수학습 방법을 적극적으로 도입하고 활성화하여 실제수업 과정에 적용하는 것이 필요하다. 이런 맥락에서 이 연구는 ‘읽기-쓰기’ 의 통합 운영에 관한 수업 구성과 운영 사례를 바탕으로 ‘읽기-쓰기’ 통합교육의 구성과 활용 방안을 검토하고 모색함으로써 궁극적으로 대학 기초･교양교육의 가능성을 확장해나가는 데 일조하고자 한다.

Recently, ‘Reading (reading)’ and ‘Writing (writing)’ courses, which form the center of communication in the basic and liberal education of universities, are operated in a connected and integrated form. In addition, reading and writing education is combined with ‘discussion(reading)- speaking(discussion)-writing(writing)’ combined with speaking(discussion) classes. In many universities in Korea, ‘reading’, ‘speaking’ and ‘writing’ are established as independent subjects, or connected and integrated forms, which serve as the basis of basic and liberal education. Considering the educational situation of ‘reading and writing’ in domestic universities, in order to introduce and operate ‘reading and writing’ courses suitable for basic and liberal education curriculum, it is necessary to devise contents and methods based on detailed research on them, It is important to develop and implement educational support programs that can fully implement these curricula. In other words, today’s college foundation and liberal arts education, in which the importance of human education is emphasized with the rapid spread of the scientific and technological discourse of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, In order to raise the fundamental questions about the reality of the world and the human value of life, we must actively introduce and activate integrated reading and writing methods using classical text as a universal text to inquire. In this context, this study examines and constructs the creative class structure and use method of classical ‘reading and writing’ based on actual class structure and operation case of ‘integrated reading and writing’, and ultimately, I want to help expand it.
