교과와 비교과 프로그램의 연계를 통한 논설문 쓰기 지도 방안 고찰

Study of Teaching Method of Rhetorical Writing by Linking Subject and Non-subject Program - Focused on Case Analysis of <Writing Clinic>

대학 글쓰기는 학술적 글쓰기와 실용적 글쓰기를 목표로 한다. 이는 이전까지의 교육과정에서 다루어지지 않았던 논설문, 보고서, 비평문, 제안서, 자기소개서 등이 주를 이룬다는 점에서 차이가 있다. 즉 대학 글쓰기는 대학 생활과 사회 진출에 필요한 내용들을 익히는 과정이라 할 수 있다. 이 중, 논설문은 학생들에게 친숙하지 않은 글로, 교과의 특성상 토론 후 논설문을 작성하는 경우에는 더욱 큰 어려움에 직면하게 된다. 이에 본고에서는 목원대학교 <토론과 글쓰기>1, 2 강좌와 연계하여 운영된 <글쓰기 클리닉> 사례를 바탕으로, 학생들의 논설문에서 나타나는 주된 오류를 살펴보고자 하였다. 학생들은 대면 첨삭을 받는 가운데 자신의 부족한 부분을 인지하게 되고 이는 글쓰기 능력의 신장으로 나타난다. 글쓰기의 기초가 되는 문법에서 시작하여 글 전반에 대한 지식을 습득함으로써 실제적인 글쓰기 소양을 기르게 된다. 또한 글쓰기에 대한 성취감은 관심으로 이어져 내적 동인(動因)을 형성한다. 글쓰기 지도는 필자 스스로의 부족한 부분을 채움으로써 보다 적극적이고 능동적인 필자로 나아가게 한다는 효과를 갖는다. 따라서 토론 후 작성한 논설문에 대한 첨삭 지도는 학생의 글쓰기 실력 향상뿐만 아니라, 논리적 사고를 지닌 능숙한 필자로 성장하는 비계(scaffold)가 된다고 할 수 있다.

University writing aims at academic writing and practical writing. This is different in that it is mainly composed of rhetorical writing, report, criticism, proposal and self-introduction which were not covered in the previous curriculum. In other words, university writing is a process of learning the contents necessary for university life and social advancement. Among these, rhetorical writing are not familiar with students, so students face even greater difficulties when they finish discussions and write rhetorical writing. Therefore, this study focuses on the main mistakes in students rhetorical writings based on the case of the writing clinic operated in connection with discussion and writing 1 and 2 lectures in Mokwon University. Students will be aware of the lack of face-to-face contact and will be able to expand their writing skills. Students begin with the grammar that is the basis of writing and acquire knowledge of the overall writing, thereby cultivating practical writing skills. In addition, students’ sense of accomplishment leads to interest in writing and forms internal drivers. writing instruction leads to the active and active writing by filling in the lack of self. Thus, instruction by instructors to guide students’ writing will be a scaffold not only to improve their writing skills, but also to help them grow into proficient writers with logical thoughts.
