한국어교육 분야 국문초록의 이동마디 구성 분석

An Analysis on Structure of Moves in Abstracts for Korean Education

이 연구는 한국어교육 분야 초록의 이동마디 구성을 분석하여 한국인과 외국인 전문필자가 드러내는 특성을 분석하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 이동마디 분석은 미국 응용언어학 분야 등의 초록 분석에서 널리 사용되고 있는 방법론이다. 하지만 한국의 한국어교육 분야에서 국문초록의 이동마디 분석이 이루어진 적은 거의 없었다. 이 연구에서는 한국어교육 분야의 다양한 학술지에서 60 편의 초록을 조사하였다. 초록에 포함된 각 문장에 Pho(2008)에서 제시한 다섯 단계의 이동마디를 기준으로 주석을 달았다. 대부분의 한국인 전문필자들이 ‘연구 제시’ ‘방법론 기술’, ‘발견 요약’, ‘연구 토의’ 이동마디를 사용하고 있었고, 많은 외국인 전문필자들은 ‘연구 제시’와 ‘발견 요약’ 이동마디를 사용하지 않았다. 또한 많은 외국인 전문필자들은 한국어교육 분야에서 주로 사용되는 이동마디 연쇄 패턴을 지키지 않았다.

The present study aimed to both examine move structures in Korean Education abstracts and compare the features of Korean writers and those of foreign writers. In the United States, a commonly used method to analyze the abstracts is move analysis in the field of Applied Linguistics. While almost no previous move-analysis tradition exists in Korean Education, we tried for the first time to apply coding frameworks to the abstracts. This study examined 60 abstracts collected from articles published in the various journals in the field of Korean Education. Sentences were coded using a five-move scheme following Pho(2008). This study demonstrated that most Korean researchers’ abstracts give information on the Situating the research, Presenting the research, Describing methodology, Summarizing the findings, Discussing the research and while most of the articles by foreign researchers omit Presenting the research and Summarizing the findings. It was also found that foreign writers often violate the move sequence expected by academics in Korean Education field.
