대림대학교 교양교과목 <글쓰기와 커뮤니케이션>의 현황과 발전 방안

Current Situation of <Writing and Communication> in Liberal Arts of Daerim University

대림대학교에서는 2010년 1학기부터 <글쓰기와 커뮤니케이션> 강좌를 개설했고, 한 학기동안 이수해야하는 핵심교양과목으로 최근에는 NCS의 교과개편과 관련하여 교양강좌가 실무중심으로 축소되었음에도 불구하고 <글쓰기와 커뮤니케이션> 강좌는 여전히 그 중요성에 대해서 많은 교수진들이 강조하고 있다. 그러나 현실적으로 3학점짜리 15주라는 한정된 시간 속에서 전문성과 개인의 역량을 가진 인재로 교육을 하기에는 대단히 많은 고민을 갖게 한다. 물론 2015년 1학기부터는 새로운 과목으로 재편되기는 하지만 이에 앞서 진단을 하고 더 나은 학습방향을 모색하는 것이 필요하다는 판단이 든다. 또한 대림대학이 지닌 전문대학이라는 특수성은 직업교육에 중점을 두고 있지만 시시각각 변화하는 직업환경에 대한 적응력을 키워주는 한편 학생 자신에게 필요한 정보를 자유롭게 습득하고 창의적으로 사고할 수 있는 기회를 제공하는 교육을 해야하는 상황이므로 여러 가지 제약이 따른다. <글쓰기와 커뮤니케이션> 과목은 학생들의 취업 역량을 강화하기 위한 한 맥락으로 글쓰기와 의사소통의 능력을 함양하기 위한 방안으로 보여진다. 또한 이런 취지에는 분명히 국내 기업이 요구하는 인성과 의사소통 능력, 조직 적응능력과 아울러 대인관계를 갖춘 인재를 발굴하고 육성하는 것에 의미를 둔 것이라고 짐작할 수 있다. 대림대학교 교양과목 <글쓰기와 커뮤니케이션>은 혁신(革新)이 필요하다. 이 과목은 전반적인 말하기와 글쓰기를 체계적으로 훈련함으로써 종합적인 의사소통 기반을 함양시키는 것을 중심 목표로 삼고 있다. 또한 <글쓰기와 커뮤니케이션> 강좌의 글쓰기 교육이나 목표와 방법, 시스템 등에서 교수자들의 공통된 논의가 결정되지 않았으며, 다소 원활하지 못하였음을 인지하고 여러 부분에서 발전방안이 강구되어야 할 필요가 있다. 아울러 과목의 학습방법 역시 학습자 중심으로 교육목표와 방향을 전환하고, 강의의 규모와 강의 방식에 있어서 새로운 시도가 필요하다.

Lecture <Writing and Communication>, which is a essential liberal arts to be completed during a semester, has been started since first semester of 2010 in Daelim university college is still being emphasized by many faculty members in spite of recent reduction of liberal arts lectures centered on practice relating to NCS curriculum modification. However, in the time limit of 3 credits during 15 weeks, the education enabling students to have professionalism with competence leaves too many troubles. Of course from the first semester of 2015, it is realigned as a new subject, however I believe it is required that better orientation of teaching should be investigated with prior diagnosis. In addition, speciality that Daelim university college is a college is a situation that it has to place priority to vacational training, while it has to not only foster adaptability against vacational environment changing hour by hour but provide the education giving the opportunity for students themselves to learn necessary information freely and to think creatively, therefore various restrictions are inevitabl. The subject <writing and communication> seems to be a way to foster students wring and communication abilities for the purpose of reinforcing students job finding capabilities. In addition, it is surely guessed that this object aims to discover and foster the talented who have personality and communicating ability, ability not only adapting to organization but interpersonal relation required by local enterprises. <Writing and communication> of liberal arts in Daelim university college needs innovation. This course mainly aims at fostering comprehensive communication basis by training speaking and writing systematically in general. In writing education or its object and method, system etc. of <writing and communication> course, it should be recognized that professors common discussion has neither been determined, nor been so harmonious, so development plan in various parts needs looking for. In education method of the course as well object and orientation of the education need to be changed centered on learner, and a new experiment is required in the scale and method of the lecture.
