대학생의 글쓰기 동인 활성화를 위한 글쓰기 교수법 연구

A Study on Teaching Method of Writing for Improvement of Motivation for University Students - Focused on Practice of Writing Process Learning

글쓰기 지도에서 중요한 것은 글을 잘 쓰게 하는 것에 앞서 글쓰기를 즐기도록 하는 것이다. 글쓰기에 대한 즐거운 생각은 무엇보다 필자 스스로의 열정적인 동인에서 비롯된다. 강제성만 띤 글쓰기 지도는 학습자가 글을 쓰는 행위를 하도록 만들 수는 있으나 글쓰기를 하고 싶다는 마음을 움직일 수는 없다. 글은 마음을 열어야 시작될 수 있는 일이고 생각에 근육을 붙여야 쓰여질 수 있는 것이다. 본고에서는 학습자 스스로 생각을 표현하고 싶다는 열정과 즐거운 마음으로 그것을 실천에 옮기는 방법으로 필자의 적극적 동인을 동반한 글쓰기 과정 학습 교수법을 제시했다. 글쓰기 욕구와 글쓰기 방법의 상호 추동성을 고려한 본 연구는 ‘화제에 대한 창의적 규정 법’에서 학습자의 글쓰기 동기를 유발시켰고 ‘글쓰기 과정 학습법’으로 실제적이고 구체적인 글쓰기 실천을 유도했다. ‘화제에 대한 창의적 정의→주제문 설정→정보 모으기→구상 개요 작성’ 등의 과정을 거친 학습자들은 쓰기 전 충분한 준비 작업을 했기 때문에 보다 능동적이고 쉽게 초고를 쓸 수 있었고 ‘글쓰기는 노력과 인내심이 필요한 즐거운 노동’임을 인식할 수 있었다. 특히 본고에서 제안한 ‘화제에 대한 창의적 정의’는 필자의 흥미와 경험, 관심이 반영되어 논의를 확장하고 글의 주요 논점을 찾는 데 긍정적인 요소로 작용했다. 대학에서 글쓰기는 주어진 조건에 맞게 비판적이고 분석적인 사고로 글을 구조적으로 조직하는 능력이 필요하기 때문에 지속적인 노력과 훈련이 필요하고 이를 즐겁게 받아들이는 자세가 필요하다. 본 연구에서 제시한, 학습자의 글쓰기 동기를 고려한 글쓰기 과정 학습 실천 학습법은 대학 글쓰기 지도에서 필요한 교수법이 될 것이다. 바람직한 글쓰기 교육은 글쓰기 이론을 구체화하여 학습자들이 실천할 수 있는 방법을 강구하는 것이고, 이것을 능동적으로 학습하여 성과물을 얻은 학습자들이 새로운 글쓰기 방법을 자득해 차후 글쓰기 행위에서 자신만의 방법을 찾게 하는 것일 것이다. 본고에서 제안한 글쓰기 과정 학습 교수법이 학습자의 글쓰기 동기에 긍정적인 역할을 하여 스스로 글쓰기 방법을 체득하는 과정까지 발전하기를 기대한다.

The most important thing in writing education is making students enjoy it before teaching them about how to write well. The pleasant thoughts about writing first derives from passionate motives of writers on their own. Writing education only with force can make learners perform the writing action itself but there is a limit to move their hearts with a will to write. Writing can get started with open mind and further, it can be performed well by adding muscles to thoughts. This study proposes teaching method of writing process learning required to be accompanied by active motives of writers as a way that learners themselves have passion and pleasure to express their thoughts and put it into practice. In addition, this research considering mutual impetus of desire for writing and writing method encourages learners to be motivated through a “law of creativity-specified regulations on topics’ and also perform writing practically and concretely by ‘writing process learning.’ It has been revealed that learners going through the process of ‘creative definition for topics → setting of topic sentences → collection of information → creation of concrete outlines’ have come to write their drafts more actively and easily since they have had enough preparation before writing, and also recognize that ‘writing is enjoyable labor with efforts and patience.’ Particularly, ‘creative definition for topics’ proposed in this research has been reflected with interest, experience and attention of writers, so it has played a positive role in expanding discussion and discovering major issues. Since university writing requires abilities to organize writing structurally based on critical and analytic thoughts following given conditions, it is necessary to make continuous efforts, experience training and have attitudes to accept it pleasantly. Studying method for the writing process learning considering writing motivation of learners, suggested in this study can be a critical teaching method for writing education. Desirable writing education is making theories of writing concrete and providing a way which learners can put into practice. Accordingly, learners obtaining performance by studying it actively understand new ways of writing by themselves and find their own ways in the future writing. Lastly, the teaching method of the writing process learning considered in this study can greatly contribute to encouraging learners to be motivated and be developed until the learners can realize writing methods on their own.
