교육대학교 학생들의 작문 교육에 대한 요구 분석

Analysis of Needs for Writing Education of Students of the University of Education

이 연구의 목적은 교육대학교 학생들의 대학 작문 교육에 대한 요구를 조사, 분석하여 교육대학교 작문 교육 방향을 수립하고 프로그램을 개발하는 데 참조할 수 있는 시사점을 도출하는 데 있다. 연구 결과 교육대학교 학생들은 대학 작문 교육의 주된 목표로 글쓰기 기능의 계발을 들고 있으며, 정식 과목으로 글쓰기 강좌의 개설과 함께 평소에 모든 교과목에서 글쓰기 교육에 대하여 피드백을 제공해 줄 것과 글쓰기 센터를 통한 수시 상담을 받고자 하는 요구가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 구체적인 수업 방식으로는 개별 학습, 소수의 수강 인원을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 평가에 있어서는 동료 평가나 자기 평가보다는 교수자의 평가를 보다 신뢰하고 선호하는 것으로 확인되었다. 다만, 글쓰기 강좌에서의 교수자의 역할과 전공과목에서의 교수자의 역할에 대해서는 서로 다른 방식의 기대를 보여, 글쓰기 강좌를 담당하고 있는 교수자에게는 글쓰기에 대한 직접적인 교육을, 전공과목의 교수자에게는 전공 지식의 효율적 표현을 위한 안내를 요구하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 향후 교육대학교 학생들을 위한 대학 작문 교육 프로그램 개선 방안을 네 가지 측면에서 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the needs for writing education of students of the University of Education in order to present a direction for writing education at the University of Education and provide implications for the development of writing education programs. According to the results of the study, students of the University of Education viewed the development of writing ability as the main goal of writing education, and showed greater needs for the inclusion of writing lessons in their curriculum, the provision for feedback for writing in every subject and the establishment of a writing center which can provide consultations for students whenever they need help. In terms of teaching methods for writing lessons, they preferred one-on-one or small classes. With regard to writing evaluation, they seemed to trust and prefer evaluations by instructors more than those by themselves or their peers. However, they displayed different expectations for the roles of instructors of writing compared to those of their major subjects. They wanted instructors of writing to provide tips for improvement of their writing skills, while they preferred the instructors of major subjects to offer advice to help them to express their disciplinary knowledge in an efficient and effective manner. Based on these results, this study suggested the measures for future improvement in four aspects of writing eduction for students of the University of Education.
