‘수정하기’ 과정의 효율적 배치와 글쓰기의 역동성

과정 중심적 글쓰기 교육은 학습자의 실질적인 글쓰기 능력 향상을 이끌어낼 수 있는 효율적인 교육 방식이다. 그러나 기존의 ‘글쓰기 과정 모형’은 이러한 과정 중심적 글쓰기 교육의 취지를 제대로 반영하지 못했다. 그래서 본고는 ‘수정하기’ 과정을 강조한 새로운 ‘글쓰기 과정 모형’을 제안함으로써, 과정 중심적 글쓰기 교육이 지니고 있는 교육적 효과를 강조하고자 했다. ‘수정하기’는 맞춤법, 띄어쓰기와 같은 글의 형식적 측면부터 주제, 글감과 같은 글의 내용적 측면까지를 아우르는 포괄적 개념이다. 그러나 현재 대학 글쓰기 교재에서 제시하고 있는 대부분의 ‘글쓰기 과정 모형’은 ‘수정하기’ 과정을 가장 마지막 단계에 배치하고 있다. 이러한 모형은 글쓰기 전 과정에서 이루어지는 ‘수정하기’의 능동적 과정을 제대로 재현할 수 없다. 본고는 수정이 효율적으로 이루어질 수 있도록, 글을 쓰는 각각의 단계에 그에 알맞은 ‘수정하기’ 과정들을 배치하도록 제안했다. 각각의 글쓰기 단계에 ‘수정하기’ 과정들을 배치한 새로운 ‘글쓰기 과정 모형’은 학습자의 글쓰기 과정에 동참하는 교수자의 변화된 역할을 보다 효율적으로 이끌어낼 수 있다. 또한 수정된 ‘글쓰기 과정 모형’은 글쓰기 과정의 선조성을 거부하고 과정들의 회귀성을 강조함으로써 글쓰기 과정의 역동성을 드러낼 수 있다. 이상의 내용은 ‘수정하기’를 강조한 새로운 ‘글쓰기 과정 모형’을 통해 과정 중심적 글쓰기 교육의 효율성을 강조했다는 의의를 지닌다.

This study has investigated the problem of Process-Based Writing Education and tried to solve the problem by proposing a new model of Process-Based Writing Education. The existing model of Process-Based Writing Education could not reveal the benefits of this writing education. The existing model of Process-Based Writing must be changed to the following. The first, revision process should be placed in the each of writing process. If revision process is placed in the each of writing process, the instructors can get involved in student’ writing process anytime. The second, the actual writing process is not sequential but recursive. However the existing model could not reenact this recursion. But the new model will show the dynamic writing process. The model of Process-Based Writing Education will continue to evolve in the future. Because Process-Based Writing Education is Learner-Centered Education. In other words, Process-Based Writing Education will be change for improvement student’s writing skills.
