대학 글쓰기에서 논증적 글쓰기 교육 방안 모색

Search for Method of Argumentative Writing Education in College - Focusing on Educational Principles for Forming ‘Felt Sense’

본 연구는 ‘논증’이 보편적인 학술적 리터러시에서 중요한 위치를 차지하며, ‘학습 전이’를 고려할 때 전공, 계열에서도 중요한 위치를 차지한다고 전제한다. 그런데 교 양과정의 글쓰기 교재에서는 논증은 비명시적으로, 읽기 중심으로, 비단계적으로 구 성으로 다뤄진다. 이를 극복하기 위해서 ‘직감’ 형성을 위한 교육 원리를 제안했다. 그 래서 지식, 기능, 태도를 중심으로 논증에 대한 직감을 형성·강화하기 위한 교육 원리 를 제안하고 운영 예시도 제시했다. 첫째는 ‘논증 모형’을 중심으로 명시적으로 논증 에 대한 지식으로 가르칠 것, 둘째는 논증 모형, 그리고 ‘논증적 글쓰기’에 대한 반복 적인 글쓰기 실습을 제공할 것, 셋째는 ‘교사 피드백’과 ‘동료 피드백’을 활용해서 단 계적으로 가르칠 것을 제안했다. 본 연구는 논증 수업을 실제로 어떻게 구성해야하는 지에 대한 고민을 안고 있는 글쓰기 교수자들에게 수업 설계의 방향을 제안했다는 점 에서 의의가 있다. 이와 같은 수업을 통해서 대학생들은 향후 전공이나 계열별 학술 적 과제에서 마주하게 되는 글쓰기의 ‘수사적 맥락’에서 강화된 직감을 바탕으로 논 증 모형과 논증적 글쓰기를 적절하게 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

This study is premised on the notion that the argument occupies an important position in general academic literacy and in major and department, given the transfer of learning. However, the argument is still inexplicitly arranged or is not used as a writing task and the constitution of its contents is found to be non-graded, in writing textbooks for liberal education. To overcome such a problem, this study recommends educational principles for forming the felt sense in genre writing. It, therefore, proposes educational principles for forming and strengthening the felt sense in knowledge, skill, and attitude-based arguments and suggests examples of operation: First, provide explicit education concerning knowledge of about the argument around the argument model. Second, provide repeated writing practice for argumentative writing and the argument model. Third, provide graded education using both teacher and peer feedback. This study has implications for writing teachers, concerned about how to actually construct an argument class, in that it offers direction and information on writing design. Undergraduates will be able to properly use the argument model and argumentative writing, based on a strengthened felt sense in the rhetorical context of writing they will typically face in future academic tasks by major or department of Colleges.
