Making friends of 4-year-old infant newcomers

본 연구는 만 4세 신입유아들의 또래관계에서 친구를 만들어 나가는 과정을 질적 연구를 통해 알아보는데 목적을 두었다. 연구 참여자는 서울시 Y구 S어린이집, 초록반 만 4세 18명(남: 9, 여: 9)과 7년 경력 교사 1명이며 이 중 신입유아 3명이 주 참여자이다. 연구절차는 예비관찰, 본 관찰, 면담, 연구자 저널 등의 2018년 4월 2일부터 2018년 5월 28일까지 약 9주 동안 이루어졌다. 연구결과, 신입유아 선우는 ‘거의 다 친구를 찾은 선우’로서. ‘놀이를 통해 친구 알아가기’, ‘주위를 맴도는 친구와 관계맺기’, ‘더불어 상호우정관계 만들어가기’로 나아갔다. 신입유아 정민은 ‘친구를 찾아가고 있는 정민’으로서, ‘끊임없는 시도하기 과정’, ‘여기저기 관심 나타내기’, ‘다양한 반응에 대한 존중’으로 드러났다. 신입유아 명나는 ‘아직 친구를 찾고 있는 명나’로서, ‘유아독존 태도 드러내기’, ‘친구와 나누는 즐거움 찾아가기’로 표현되었다. 신입유아들은 시간의 흐름에 따라 친구형성의 변화를 나타내었고, 놀이와 시간의 공유, 놀잇감의 공유가 친구형성과 유지에 반드시 필요하다는 점을 시사하고 있다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the process of making friends in the relationship of peers of 4 -year-old infant newcomers through a qualitative study. Participants in the study were 18 4-year-olds(male: 9, female: 9) and 1 teacher with 7 years of experience in S children s daycare centers in Seoul s Y-gu of which 3 infant newcomers were the main participants. The research procedure was conducted for approximately 9 weeks from April 2, 2018 to May 28, 2018, including preliminary observation, main observation, interview, and researcher s journal. As a result of the study, newcomer Seonwoo became a Seonwoo who almost found friends . ‘getting to know friends through play’, ‘building relationship with friends around us’, and ‘building a mutual friendship together . As a newcomer, Jungmin became a ‘Jungmin finding a friend , ‘the process of endless attempts , ‘expressing interest here and there , and ‘respect for various reactions . Myeongna, a infant newcomer was appeared as ‘Myeongna, who is still looking for a friend,’ and expressed as ‘Showing the attitude of the child alone,’ and ‘Finding the joy of sharing with friends.’. Infant newcomer showed changes in friend formation over time, suggesting that sharing of play, time, and play is essential for forming and maintaining friends.
