학교 오케스트라의 지역 연계 운영 실태

A Study on the Actual Status of School Orchestra’s Connections with the Community: Focusing on Elementary School in Jeju

본 연구의 목적은 제주 지역 초등학교 오케스트라의 지역 연계 운영 실태와 문제점을 파악하여 시사점을 도출하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 제주 지역 초등학교 오케스트라 25곳의 담당교사들을 대상으로 설문과 면담조사를 시행하였으며, 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 학교 오케스트라의 일반 운영 실태와 지역 연계 운영 실태를 점검하고 시사점을 모색하였다. 담당교사들은 지역과의 소통과 협조에 대해 긍정적으로 인식하고 있었으나, 지도강사 채용이나 예산 지원, 교사연수 등의 프로그램 등에서 개선이 필요하다고 응답하였다. 지역 연계 운영 실태 분석을 통해 다음과 같은 시사점을 도출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 탄탄한 인적 인프라 구축과 유동적인 예산 지원, 지속적이고 내실 있는 교사 연수의 제공 등을 통해 오케스트라의 정상적 운영을 지원해야 한다. 둘째, 소통적인 워크숍과 협의회의 개최, 교사 커뮤니티의 활성화, 악기관리지원팀 운영 등을 통한 심화된 지원이 필요하다. 셋째, 학교의 상황과 지역적 특색에 맞는 오케스트라의 운영을 위하여 지역과의 네트워크를 바탕으로 한 다양한 활동 기회의 제공이 요구된다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the actual status and problems of school orchestra’s connections with the community in Jeju, and to draw implications for the management of connections with the community. To this ends, questionnaires and interviews were conducted with 25 teachers from elementary school orchestras in Jeju. Based on the collected data, the general status of the school orchestra and the status of connections with the community were investigated and implications were drawn. The teachers were positively aware of connections with the community in school orchestra, but responded that improvement was needed in hiring training staffs, budget support, and teacher training programs. The findings had the following implications. First, it is necessary to support the normal operation of the orchestra by establishing a human infrastructure, supporting flexible budgets, and providing continuous and substantial teacher training. Second, in-depth support is needed through the holding of communicative workshops and councils, revitalization of the teacher community, and operation of a musical instrument management support team. Third, in order for each school orchestra to be run according to the situation of the school and regional characteristics, it is required to provide opportunities for various activities based on the network with the community.
