A Hydrodynamic Mooring Analysis of Submerged Habitats

  • 8

This study is about three vertically connected habitats in ellipsoidal shape. Submerged floating housing model that includes the conceptual hull shape and mooring arrangement with three vertically connected ellipsoidal-shape habitat hulls of different sizes is theorized and tested for its hydrodynamic response in this study. Each floor has different diameter but with same height. The main factors, mooring tension, offset and tilt of each hull, are considered using OrcaFlex. Speaking of arrangement, simulations are performed for 6 lines and 6 lines + cross lines. Smart float which adjusts body to be horizontal is attached only to 1st floor habitat. Simulations depending on with and without smart float are compared.
