대학생의 학사경고 극복 경험에 대한 현상학적 연구

A Phenomenological Study on University Students Experiences Overcoming Bachelor s Warning: Focused on Students in Humanities Departments of Private Universities

본 연구는 사립대학 인문계열에서 학생들이 학사경고를 받고 이를 극복해 나가는 과정에서 무엇을 경험하고 이들에게 학사경고 극복의 의미가 어떠한지 그 의미를 심층적으로 탐색하고 이해하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 Giorgi 현상학적 연구방법을 적용하여 부산, 울산, 경남 지역에 위치한 사립대학 인문계열에서 학사경고를 극복한 학생 6명을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하여 자료를 분석하였다. 자료 분석 결과 학사경고 경험에 대한 11개의 하위구성요소 및 4개의 구성요소와 학사경고 극복 경험에 대한 10개의 하위구성요소 및 3개의 구성요소가 도출되었다. 이러한 구성요소 간의 관계를 전체 맥락에서 구조화하여 일반적 구조를 드러낸 결과‘버리지 못한 대학의 서열화’,‘무책임한 학업에 대한 대가를 받음’,‘인식의 전환점을 마주함’,‘나만의 목표를 향해 나아감’이 도출되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 통해 부산, 울산, 경남 지역 사립대학 인문계열 학생의 학사경고 경험에 대한 심층적인 탐색과 이해를 제공하였다는 점에 의의를 둘 수 있다. 또한 대학생활 적응을 위한 교육, 상담, 학생 지원에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하였다는 점에 의의가 있다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 제한점 및 추후 연구의 필요성을 제안하였다.

This study sought to explore and understand in depth student experiences in the course of overcoming academic warnings in the humanities departments of private universities and what the meaning of overcoming academic warnings meant to them. To this end, the research method of Giorgi phenomenological research was applied to analyze the data by conducting in-depth interviews with six students who overcame academic warnings in the humanities departments of private universities located in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam. The data analysis resulted in 11 subcomponents and 4 components for the bachelor s warning experience, and 10 subcomponents and 3 components for those that overcame the experience of a bachelor’s warning. As a result of structuring the relationships between these components in the context of the whole, revealing the general structure resulted in “sequencing of universities that could not be abandoned”, “received for irresponsible studies”, “facing a turning point in perception” and “moving toward my own goals”. It can be meaningful that these findings provided in-depth exploration and understanding of the academic warning experience of students in the humanities departments of private universities in the “Bu-Ul-Gyeong” area. It is also meaningful in that it provided basic data necessary for education, counseling, and student support to adapt to college life. Finally, based on the results of this study, we proposed limitations and the need for further research.
