분권화, 관리통제시스템의 활용, 그리고 경영성과간의 관계에서 창의성의 역할

The Role of Creativity in the Relationship among Decentralization, Use of Management Control Systems, and Business Performance

[연구목적] 본 연구의 목적은 현대사회에서 점차 그 중요성이 증대되는 창의성에 초점을 두고, 분권화와 관리통제시스템의 활용, 창의성, 그리고 경영성과 간의 관계를 종합적으로 검증하는데 있다. 따라서 창의성의 역할을 중심으로 창의성의 선행요인으로서 분권화와 관리통제시스템의 활용을, 창의성의 후행요인으로서 경영성과를 제시하고 그 관계를 규명한다. [연구방법] 본 연구는 매출액 기준 400대 상장 제조기업을 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하여 자료를 획득하였고, 이를 PLS 구조방정식 기법을 이용하여 실증분석하였다. [연구결과] 분석결과, 분권화의 정도가 높을수록 창의성이 높게 나타날 뿐 아니라, 이용방식을 막론하고 관리통제시스템의 활용도가 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 창의성은 관리통제시스템의 피드백 방식의 활용도를 높이며, 재무적·비재무적 경영성과를 모두 증진시키는데 기여할 수 있음을 보였다. [연구의 시사점] 본 연구는 최근의 경영환경에서 그 중요성이 역설되는 분권화와 창의성의 초점을 맞추고, 관리통제시스템의 활용을 바탕으로 그 관계를 검증했다는데 그 의의가 있다. 특히 회계학 연구 분야에서는 처음으로 창의성의 발현에 영향을 미치는 상황요인으로서 조직구조 중 하나인 분권화를 제시하고, 관리통제시스템의 활용 및 창의성에 대한 그 영향을 살펴봤다는데 선행연구와의 차별성을 지닌다.

[Purpose] This study aims to examine the relationship among decentralization, the use of management control systems, creativity, and business performance integratively, focusing on the role of creativity which is key success factor in recent business environment. [Methodology] This study empirically analyze with PLS structural equation modelling technique. Data used for analysis was collected by survey method that is implemented to 400 listed manufacturing firms ranged by annual sales. [Findings] The result shows that the degree of decentralization positively affect creativity；also, decentralization leads highly intensive use of management control systems irrespective of the way of using those systems. Creativity lean on feedback control systems, and creativity improves business success. [Implications] This study contributes to management accounting literature it focuses on decentralization and creativity based on the use of management control systems. Especially, this study can be differentiated by prior studies by suggesting decentralization as a contingent factor which affect developing creativity.
