본 연구는 장자 ‘나비의 꿈’을 이론적 배경으로 하여 TV 드라마 <눈이 부시게>의 비극성을 동양 미학의 관점에서 고찰한 것이다. 장자는 동양 미학에서 가장 많이 거론되는 사상가이며 그 중 ‘나비의 꿈’은 소설이나 영화 등 다양한 예술 장르에서 모티브로 차용되는 우화이다. 연구 결과, 먼저 드라마 <눈이 부시게>의 환상성은 장자 ’나비의 꿈‘과 일치하고 있음을 확인하였다. 이는 서사구조를 통해서 확인된다. ‘나비의 꿈’의 서사 구조는 장주의 꿈 인식(환상) - 나비로 만족(환상) - 자신이 장주인 줄 모름(환상) - 꿈에서 깬 후 장주임을 인식(현실 인식) - 모호한 꿈과 현실 인식의 단계로 구분되는데, 드라마 <눈이 부시게>의 서사구조는 준하를 만나게 된 혜자 (환상) - 아버지를 살리기 위한 고군분투(환상) - 노인홍보관의 에피소드(환상) - 바닷가에서 현실 인식 (현실) - 치매 환자인 혜자 (현실과 환상의 모호)이다. 또한 드라마 <눈이 부시게>는 이야기의 서사를 통해 비극성을 확보하고 있음을 확인하였다. 이는 주요 등장인물 혜자를 통해 확인된다. 혜자는 사회정치적인 문제로 사랑하는 남편을 잃고, 장애인이 된 아들을 홀로 키우는 비극적인 삶을 살았으며 궁극에는 ‘치매’라는 인간 스스로 극복할 수 없는 비극적인 질병을 앓고 있다는 점에서 그러하다. 하지만 드라마는 ‘치매’를 통해 비극적 현실을 초월한다. 이는 장자의 초월의식이다. 이를 통해서 TV 드라마 <눈이 부시게>는 환상성을 확보하는 동시에 ‘치매’를 통해 비극적 현실을 초월하고 있음을 확인하였다.
This study examines the tragic elements of the TV drama series “The Light in Your Eyes (Nooni Booshige)” from the perspective of Eastern aesthetics, based on Zhuang Zhou s Butterfly s Dream as a theoretical background. Zhuang Zhou is one of the most often raised thinkers of Eastern aesthetics, and his “Butterfly s Dream is a fable that is borrowed as a motif in various art genres such as novels and movies. As a result of the analysis, this study found that the fantasticality of the drama “The Light in Your Eyes” coincides with that of Butterfly s Dream. This is confirmed through the narrative structure. The narrative structure of Butterfly s Dream is divided into five stages of reality recognition: the realization of Jangju’s dreams (fantasy), satisfaction with a butterfly (fantasy), ignorance of self as the Jangju (fantasy), and recognition of self as Jangju after waking up (reality recognition), and ambiguous dream and reality perception. The narrative structure of the drama “The Light in Your Eyes” is also divided into five stages: Hyeja who met Junha (fantasy), struggle to save her father (fantasy), episodes at the elderly public relations center (fantasy), reality perception at the seaside (reality), and Hyeja as an Alzheimer’s dementia patient (reality and the ambiguity of fantasy). In addition, the study confirmed that the drama “The Light in Your Eyes” secures tragedy through the narrative of the story, which is done through the main character Hyeja. Hyeja lived a tragic life of losing her beloved husband due to sociopolitical issues and raising a handicapped son by herself and ultimately suffers from a tragic disease Alzheimer’s dementia, a tragic disease that humans cannot overcome. However, the drama transcends the tragic reality through dementia, which is the transcendental consciousness of Zhuang Zhou. Through this narrative structure, the TV drama “The Light in Your Eyes” secures fantasticality and transcends the tragic reality through demetia.
