일반 경비원 신임교육 대상자의 경찰에 대한 관심도가 경찰 서비스 질에 미치는 영향

The Effect on the Quality of Police Service as to the Level of interest on the Police for New Employee of General Security : Moderating Effect on the Fear of Crime

사회변화에 따라 함께 변화하는 경찰 활동의 특성을 고려할 때 경찰에 대한 유동적인 견해를 갖는 국민, 특히 치안서비스 공동생산자로서 경비근무자의 경찰 서비스에 대한 인식은 매우 중요한 지표라 할 수 있다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 일반 시민이자 치안서비스의 공동생산자인 경비근무자들이 경찰에 대해 갖게 되는 관심의 정도가 경찰 서비스 질에 대한 인식과 범죄두려움의 조절효과 여부에 대해서도 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위하여 부산·경남지역에 거주하는 일반 경비원 신임교육 대상자 287명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고 이를 통하여 치안서비스 공동생산자로서의 경찰과의 협력을 위한 경찰 서비스의 긍정적 인식 여부를 파악하기 위한 조사와 분석하였다. 그 결과 경찰에 대한 관심이 높을수록 경찰 서비스 질에 대하여 긍정적으로 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 범죄에 대한 두려움은 조절변수로 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 향후 경찰과 민간경비원의 관계 설정에 중요한 기준을 제기할 수 있으며 향후 경비근무자에 대한 교육 프로그램의 개선에도 반영할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

In terms of the characteristics of police activities according to the social changes, the public has the flexible view of the police. Particularly as co-producer of security services, security guard is a very important indicator perceiving the police service. Therefore, the study aims to examine whether the level of interest that security workers, who are ordinary citizens and co-producers of security services, have in the police as co-producers is effective and demonstrate the moderating effect between the quality of police services and crime fears. The data were collected by using the survey targeting 287 new general security guards living in Busan and South Gyeongsang Province and analyzed to find out whether the police service was positive for cooperation with the police or not. The result of the study showed that the higher the interest in the police, the more positive they were about the quality of police service. In addition, the fear of crime had a moderating effect on the quality of police service as a moderator. It is expected that this will advance the important criteria for establishing relationship between the police and civilian security guards and reflect the improvements in education programs for security workers in the future.
