특수외국어의 수용을 통한 외국어번역행정사 제도의 활성화에 관한 연구

A Study on the Activation of the Certified Public Translator & Licensed Administrative Agent System by including Critical Foreign Languages

The License of Certified Public Translator & Administrative Agent is acknowledged as the only officially recognized license in the interpretation and translation industry issued by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Government of Korea. As of 2020, the system of Certified Public Translator & Administrative Agent covers eight languages such as English, Chinese, Japanese, French, German, Russian, Spanish and Arabic. In reality, it is difficult, for now, to adequately deal with the demands for official translation related to certificates and affidavits arising from countries where economic exchanges with Korea are rapidly increasing, such as Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand. In this context, this study proposes the inclusion of the Vietnamese language in the examination of the Certified Public Translator & Administrative Agent because the translation between Korean and Vietnamese is in the biggest demand among the languages of the Southeast Asia.
