구매자 관점에서 공급자와의 사회적 교환관계가 TQM과 운영역량에 미치는 영향 및 TQM의 매개효과

Effects of Buyer-Supplier’s Social Exchange Relationship on TQM and Operational Capabilities : Direct and Mediation Effects

탁월한 고객가치창출과 지속가능한 경쟁우위 확보를 위한 기업의 노력은 내부프로세스와 핵심역량의 강화는 물론 SCM으로까지 시야를 확대하고 있다. 특히 사회적 교환관계에 근거한 SCM은 공식적인 계약관계보다 높은 성과를 기대할 수 있는데 구매자와 공급자의 밀접한 관계는 공급자의 동기부여, 자발성을 통해 구매자는 유연성과 효율성의 개선효과를 가져온다. 본 연구는 기업가치프로세스에 따라 사회적 교환관계에 근거한 SCM이 기업내부프로세스인 TQM과 운영역량에 영향을 주는 인과관계를 중소제조기업을 대상으로 실증분석하였다. 그 결과 SCM은 TQM과 운영역량에, TQM은 운영역량에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, TQM은 SCM과 운영역량의 관계에서 통계적으로 유의한 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결론에서는 연구결과의 요약 및 연구의 의의를 설명하고 한계점과 향후 연구방향을 제시하였다.

Many Organizations face competitive challenges amid the rapid technical and business environment changes. In order to create customer value and to secure sustainable competitive advantages, companies are required to strengthen internal process improvement and core competencies as well as SCM activities. Especially SCM based on social exchange relationship expects higher performance than formal contract relationship. Close relationship between buyer and supplier brings about buyer’s flexibility and efficiency through supplier’s motivation and voluntariness. This study empirically investigates the value of buyer－supplier’s social exchange relationship on manufacturer’s TQM and operational excellence. Causal relationships among SCM, TQM and Operations Capabilities were examined. Survey data were collected from 291 small and medium－sized manufacturing companies. We find that SCM has significant positive direct effects on TQM practices, and that TQM practices has significant direct positive effects on operations capabilities. As expected, TQM is confirmed as a mediator of SCM’s effects on operations capabilities.
