연구개발 역량과 조직 관리적 노력의 연구개발비지출 성과에 대한 영향

The Effects of R&D Skills and Organizational Efforts on the Business Performance of R&D Expenditures

본 연구는 급변하는 시장과 세계적 경쟁의 경영환경 하에서 중요성이 증대하고 있는 연구개발비 지출이 기업의 경영성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치며, 연구개발 활동 관련 연구개발 역량과 조직 관리적 노력이 경영성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대해 중소제조기업을 대상으로 분석하고자 하였다. 연구는 기계산업이 중심산업인 창원지역의 중소기업을 대상으로 설문조사에 의해 이루어졌으며, 연구변수로는 독립변수로 연구개발비 지출, 조절변수로 연구개발 역량과 조직 관리적 노력을 사용하였고, 종속변수로서의 경영성과는 대표적인 재무성과인 영업이익을 사용하였다. 분석결과, 연구개발비 지출이 경영성과인 영업이익에 유의적인 정(＋)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 연구개발비를 대차대조표상의 개발비 지출과 손익계산서상의 경상개발비로 분리하여 분석한 결과, 손익계산서상의 경상개발비 지출액이 당해 연도의 영업이익에 유의적인 정(＋)영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구개발비 지출과 조절변수인 연구개발 역량 및 조직관리적 노력과의 조절효과를 분석한 결과, 연구개발 역량과 조직관리적 노력은 영업이익에 대해 유의적인 조절효과를 지니는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 중소 제조기업의 경우 연구개발비 지출을 통해 영업이익의 향상을 가져올 수 있으며, 연구개발 활동과 관련한 연구개발 역량과 조직 관리적 지원이 많이 이루어질수록 기업의 경영성과가 더욱 향상되므로, 기업에서 경영성과의 향상을 위해서는 연구개발비 지출과 그에 대한 관리적 노력을 기울여야 함을 보여주고 있다.

This research intend to analyze the relationship among R&D expenditures, business performance, and organizational efforts in small - medium sized corporations. This study analyzes how R&D expenditures affect the business performance. And this study analyzes how R&D skills(R&D technical capability and R&D personnel skills) and organizational efforts affect business performance. The results are as follows. First, R&D expenditures affect directly business performance. Second, the relationship between R&D expenditures and business performance is significantly moderated by factors as R&D skills(R&D technical capability and R&D personnel skills) and organizational efforts. These results show that managerial efforts addition to R&D expenditures are required to improve business performance. That is, according to R&D Expenditures increases, companies can get better business performance. And the comprehensive consideration of R&D activities affects business performance through R&D technical capability, R&D personnel skills, and organizational efforts.
