대학생들이 지각한 아동기의 정서적 학대 및 방임경험, 정서표현억제, 부적응적 갈등대처방식, 대인관계문제의 구조적 관계

A Structural Analysis of Childhood Emotional Abuse and Neglect, Suppression of Emotional Expression, Maladaptive Conflict Coping and Interpersonal Problems Perceived by University Students

본 연구는 대학생들이 지각한 아동기의 정서적 학대 및 방임경험과 현재의 대인관계문제의 관계에서 정서표현억제와 부적응적 갈등대처방식의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 대학생 316명의 자료를 수집하였고, 자료 분석은 구조방정식 모형을 이용하였으며, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생들이 아동기의 정서적 학대 및 방임경험을 높게 지각할수록 정서표현억제 경향을 많이 보였고, 정서표현억제를 많이 할수록 부적응적 갈등대처방식의 사용도 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 정서표현억제와 부적응적 갈등대처방식을 많이 사용할수록 대인관계문제가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 대학생들이 지각한 아동기의 정서적 학대 및 방임경험이 대인관계문제에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 것이 아니라 아동기에 경험한 정서적 학대 및 방임경험이 정서표현억제 경향을 높이고, 정서표현억제 경향을 보일수록 대인관계문제가 많은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학생들이 지각한 아동기의정서적 학대 및 방임경험과 대인관계문제의 관계를 정서표현억제와 부적응적 갈등대처방식이 이중매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점 및 앞으로의 연구방향을 논의하였다.

This study aimed to confirm the mediating effect of suppression of emotional expression and maladaptive conflict coping on the relationship between childhood emotional abuse and neglect perceived by university students and interpersonal problems. The data were collected from 316 university students and were analyzed through SEM (structural equation modeling). The main research findings of this study were as follows. First, greater childhood emotional abuse and neglect perceived by university students was associated with greater suppression of emotional expression and greater suppression of emotional expression was associated with greater maladaptive conflict coping. In addition, greater suppression of emotional expression and maladaptive conflict coping were related to greater interpersonal problems. Second, childhood emotional abuse and neglect perceived by university students did not necessarily lead to greater interpersonal problems Rather, childhood emotional abuse and neglect perceived by university students led to university students greater suppression of emotional expression, which in turn predicted greater interpersonal problems. Third, childhood emotional abuse and neglect perceived by university students had an effect on interpersonal problems through the double mediation of suppression of emotional expression and maladaptive conflict coping. The implications of the findings are discussed and suggestions for further studies are provided.
