한국광복진선청년공작대의 결성과 항일공연예술 활동

The Organization and Anti-Japanese Performing Arts Activities of The Korea Liberation Front Youths Mission Corps

한국광복진선청년공작대는 1939년 2월 초 중국 유주에서 결성되어 삼일절 기념공연, 위로금 모금공연 등의 활동을 전개하였다. 이는 중국 측에 한중연대의 필요성을 인식시킨 것은 물론 ‘한중연합군의 연대투쟁’을 주제로 한 연극 <국경의 밤>을 통해 중국인 관객들에게 진정한 한중연대를 몸소 공감하고 체감할 수 있는 기회의 장을 마련해주었다. 아울러 일제에 맞서 최후의 승리를 쟁취하는 연극 무대는 당장에 군사적 대일항전을 수행하지 못하는 현실에 대한 대원들의 아쉬움을 달래주고 사기를 진작시켜주었다. 더욱이 항일을 소재로 한 공연 외에도 한국 고유의 정서와 특색이 담긴 공연을 선보여 중국인 관객들 앞에서 한국인으로서 정체성과 자부심을 드러내 보이기도 하였다. 청년공작대의 항일공연예술 활동은 중국 측과의 우호적인 관계 형성에도 긍정적인 작용을 하였다. 공연 이후 수익금 전액을 중국의 대일항전을 위해 기부함으로써 한국독립운동에 대한 중국 측의 지지와 협력을 이끌어내고 나아가 중국의 항전을 돕는 국제지원단체로서 지위와 위상을 확실히 각인시킬 수 있었다. 이후 청년공작대는 군사특파단과 한국청년전지공작대를 거쳐 한국광복군으로 연결된다. 또한 이들이 전개한 항일공연예술 활동은 전지공작대로 계승되어 전문성과 예술성이 더해진 항일예술극운동으로 발전하게 된다. 따라서 청년공작대는 한국광복군 창설의 실질적인 인적기반을 구축하였고, 한국독립운동전선에서 효과적인 항일투쟁방략이 정립하게 되는 기반을 조성하였다.

The Youths Mission Corps was an anti-Japan propagation group formed early February 1939 in Liuzhou, China on the premise of integration of youths on the Korea Liberation Front and resolved in October of the same year. The Youths Mission Corps was in charge of the a wide spectrum of activities from basic propagation operations to fund raising concerts for injured Chinese soldiers, commemoration performance for the Independence Movement Day and other shows. The performance of the group not only let the Chinese become aware of the necessity and appropriateness of the Korea and China union but also allowed them to sympathize and experience the union through <The Night at the Border>. The anti-Japanese performing arts activities by the Youths Mission Corps, later on, had positive impact on forming friendly relationship with China. When the news widely broke out on the newspaper that the corps donated its entire profit for the Chinese on their anti-Japan movement really engraved the status of corps as an international support organization to the Chinese.
