Death for the Country of Yoon Bong-gil and the Activity of Exaltation

윤봉길은 사형 집행이 연기된 채 1932년 11월 오사카 위수감옥에 이송되었다. 일제는 일본반제동맹원들의 윤봉길 총살형 반대 운동이 벌어지자, 12월 18일 가나자와 9사단 사령부로 윤봉길을 이송하였다. 그리고 다음 날 육군작업장의 산기슭에서 사형을 집행하였다. 윤봉길의 유해는 가족에게 인계되어야 함에도 육군묘지 관리소 옆의 통로에 암장되었다. 해방 후 김구의 지시에 의해 발굴된 유해는 도쿄를 거쳐 서울 태고사로 옮겨졌다. 그리고 7월 6일 성대한 국민장으로 효창원에 모셔졌다. 1991년 윤봉길 현창사업이 진행됨에 따라 1992년 4월 암장지 위쪽에 윤봉길의사순 국기념비를 건립하였다. 가나자와의 시민단체에서는 1992년 12월 ‘윤봉길의사암장지적’비를 건립하였다. 월진회 일본지부와 ‘윤봉길의사와 함께 하는 모임’은 지금도 암장지적을 보존, 관리하고 윤봉길의 업적을 현창하는 사업을 진행하고 있다. 이는 한일 간의 우호와 협력, 나아가 동아시아의 평화 구축에 크게 기여해나갈 것으로 믿는다.

Yoon Bong-gil was transferred to Japan for execution. When the opposition movement the members of Japanese rebel alliance in Osaka broke out against an execution by a firing squad, the Japanese imperial government transferred Yoon Bong-gil to the detention center of the 9th Division in Kanazawa, and sentenced him to death in the mountains of the army workshop. Although the remains had to be handed over to his family, he was buried at the passage next to the cemetery management center at Nodasan. After liberation, at the instruction of Kim Gu, a team was formed to restore the remains. The remains moved to Temple Taegosa in Seoul. The funeral was held at Hyochangwon as a grand national funeral. In April 1992, a monument was erected to commemorate the death of the martyr Yoon Bong-gil above the secretly buried land. In January 1991, the Korean residents in Japan and the Japanese civilian group organized a meeting in memory of Yoon Bong-gil. Since the establishment of the memorial stone, people of the Japan branch of Woljinhoe and the ‘meeting with Yoon Bong-gil’ which was composed of Japanese have managed the secretly buried land, and have been working on projects to admire his achievement. It is believed that these efforts will contribute greatly to the friendship and cooperation between Korea and Japan and to the establishment of peace in East Asia.
