SPOC(Small Private Online Course)에 대한 중학교 교사의 인식 분석

A Study on Middle School Teachers Perception of SPOC (Small Private Online Course)

대규모 개방형 온라인 학습체제인 MOOC의 문제점에 대한 대안으로 등장한 SPOC는 소규모의 제한적인 온라인 학습 체제이다. 중화권, 서구권을 중심으로 활발하게 도입 논의 중인 SPOC는 블렌디드 러닝을 학습 방식으로 택하고 있으며 학생들의 학습효과가 높다고 보고되고 있어 원격수업과 등교수업을 병행하는 한국의 현 상황에서 검토해 볼 만하다. 본 연구는 SPOC를 중학교에 도입하는 데 있어서 장·단점, 문제점을 파악하기 위한 목적으로, SPOC 연구·시범학교였던 중국 정저우 X중학교 94명의 교사를 대상으로 SPOC의 개발 및 활용, 교육적 의의, 미래 발전에 대한 인식을 알아보았다. 연구 결과, SPOC의 개발 및 활용에 있어서 참여 교사들은 중학교에서 SPOC의 도입을 위한 프로그램 개발은 필요하나, 활용하는 것은 어렵다고 인식하였다. 교육적 의의에 있어서, 모두 적극적으로 참여 의사를 밝혔으며 활용 의향이 있는 교사 집단 및 개발·활용 경험이 있는 교사 집단은 활용 의향이 없는 교사 집단 및 개발·활용 경험이 없는 교사 집단보다 통계적으로 유의하게 더 높은 참여 의사를 밝혔다. 미래 발전에 있어서, 교사 집단 전체적으로 정책과 재정적인 지원, 연수 및 지도 등 필요하다는 인식이 높았으며, SPOC를 광범위하게 도입할 만하다고 인식하였다. 활용 의향, 개발·활용 경험의 여부에 따라서는 부분적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 연구 결과를 토대로 교사의 나이, 경력에 따라 개별화된 지도 및 연수의 필요 등을 제언하였다.

SPOC which has emerged as an alternative to avoid the weakness of MOOC(Massive Open Online Course), has a small private online course platform. SPOC which is taking blended learning method is being actively researched and carried out in China and Western countries, and it is reported that the learning effect of students is high. So it is worth to review in the current situation in Korea, where is applying both distance education and face to face education. This study employed quantitative research method to identify the strengths, weaknesses, and problems of introducing SPOC in middle schools, targeting 94 teachers at X Middle Schools in Zhengzhou, China, to explore the teachers perceptions of the exploitation and implementing of SPOC, educational significance, and awareness of future development. As a result, about the exploitation and implementing of SPOC, the participating teachers recognized that it is necessary to introducing SPOC in middle school, but it is difficult to put it into practice. In terms of educational significance, all the participating teachers are actively aware of the educational significance of the SPOC, and the teacher group who is willing to implement and the teacher group who has experience in the implementing are more actively than those who do not intend to implement and those who do not have experience in implementing. In terms of future development, the participating teachers recognize that more policies and financial support, more training and guidance etc, are necessary for the future development of SPOC, also recognized that the SPOC is worth to be widely introduced. Based on the research results, the need for individualized guidance and training according to the teacher s age and experiences etc, were suggested.
