The plan to confine the Korean army in the cause of loyalty in Tsushima was devised as a means to suppress the Korean people’s anti-Japanese spirit aroused after the treaty of the year of the Serpent in November, 1905. Imperialist Japan pointed out Hongjoo army and Ik-Hyun Choi’s army at the top of Korean anti-Japanese struggle as the main target. As on the one hand imperialist Japan devastated them and on the other confined their leading figures in Tsushima, Japan, it tried to disconnect them from the Korean people. Namely, it tried to confine the leading anti-Japanese figures thoroughtly in Tsushima. The leading figures confined were 13 persons including Ik-Hyun Choi, Byeong-Chan Yim and Hongjoo 9 righteous persons. They were watched and suppressed thoroughly by the Japanese troops during their confinement. The military unit which supervised them was Tsushima infantry battalion for guards in Izhara. According the building which confined them was directly controlled by this battalion. This battailon was under Tsushima guards which had its headqurters in Tsushima and Tsushima guards was under the 12th division. As the 12th division was responsible for their life during their confinement finally, the battalion could not but supervise them thoroughly as much as they could. Their release was performed step by step covering more than 5 times at least. In the course of their confinement, 9 leading figures of Hongjoo Army arrived in Tsushima on the 8 August, 1908 and 20 days later Ik-Hyun Choi and Byung-Chan Yim arrived there. But in the course of their release, Ik-Hyun Choi died in prison on the 1st of January. For the second round, Byung-Chan Yim and Hang-Sik Ahn were released on 28th of February, 1907. And for the third round, Hyun-Doo Shin was released on 16th of July, 1908 and for the fourth round, Seok-Hwan Moon, Kyu-Jin Nahm, Hyun-Doo Shin, and Sang-Jip Choi were released on 8th of October, 1908.
