This study was conducted to analyze the nutrients of interest when using nutrition labels and determinethe factors that influence them. Using the data from the 2016-2018 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, this study analyzed the differences in nutrients of interest according to gender, age, and nutrition education. It also analyzed whether patients with hypertension and diabetes are interested in nutrition labeling. Results reveala difference in nutrients viewed with interest according to gender and age when purchasing processed foods, whereas no difference was observed according to nutrition education. Moreover, a difference exists in nutrients of interest among patients with diabetes and hypertension. In conclusion, this study proposes the establishment of effective nutrition education through modifications concerning the use of nutrition labels for healthy eating habits.
