장애인거주시설 중증발달장애인 의사소통 지원에 대한 생활재활교사 인식 및 요구 분석

Staff s Awareness and Needs Analysis of Communication Support for Adult with Significant Developmental Disabilities in Residential Institution

이 연구는 장애인거주시설 중증발달장애인 의사소통 지원에 대한 생활재활교사의 인식과 요구수준을 파악하여 일상적, 기능적 의사소통 지원을 실질적으로 향상시킬 수 있는 현장지원의 방향성을제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 중증발달장애인 담당 생활재활교사 143명을 대상으로 설문조사를실시하였고, 의사소통 지원에 관한 각 문항을 현재 수행수준과 필요한 중요수준을 구분하여 질문하였다. 요구 우선순위는 IPA분석, LfFM, t-test, Borich 요구도 분석으로 파악하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 중증발달장애인 의사소통 지원은 하위영역인 생활재활교사를 통한 지원이나 시설의 지원 모두에서 현재수행수준이 중요수준보다 낮은 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 통합적 분석방법을 통해 도출된, 의사소통지원의 요구 최우선 순위는 생활재활교사 지원 영역에서 관찰을 통한 의사소통 방법 찾기, 의사소통내용 관련 세부단계 설명하기, 이해를 위한 시각자료 제시하기이며, 시설 지원 영역에서는 거주자의의사소통 상세정보를 직원에게 제공하는 것과 의사소통을 위한 팀 접근으로 확인되었다. 특히 생활재활교사 개개인의 지원에 비해 시설 차원의 지원에 대한 요구 수준이 상대적으로 높게 나타났다. 본연구결과에 따라 중증발달장애인 의사소통 지원을 위해 생활재활교사의 전문성 증진, 나아가 거주시설 차원에서 체계적인 의사소통 지원방안이 마련되어야 함을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study is to identify staff s awareness and needs of communication support for adult with significant developmental disabilities in residential institution to improve daily functional communication support and to provide direction for on-site assistance. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 143 staffs in charge of adult with significant developmental disabilities. Each question regarding communication support classified current performance levels and the necessary important levels. The priority of needs was identified by IPA analysis, LfFM, t-test, and Borich need analysis. The results are as follows: first, it was confirmed that the performance level was lower than the importance level. Second, the highest priority identified for communication support, derived through the integrated analysis method, was finding the best communication method by observing, explaining detailed steps related to contents in communication, providing detailed communication information to staffs and developing a team approach for communication support. In particular, the needs level for communication support at the institutional organization level was relatively higher than that of individual staffs. The discussion reviews factors that enhance the level of awareness and professionalism of staff in residential institution in terms of communication support and suggests implications for future research.
