Policy Issues for the Regional Economic Revitalization in Jeju

In Jeju many projects have been planned and executed for the regional economic revitalization and so forth. But there have been few comprehensive and systemic studies for evaluating their implementation. This study is aiming at evaluating the major projects started in the 1970 s for the regional economic growth, extracting implementation system from the evaluation results, and suggesting the policy issues accordingly. From these analytical results, many policy implications are obtained: The first is the succesive implementation of the Jeju Interational Free City Plan. The second is the reconsruction of Infrastructure. The third is the efficient introduction of foreign direct investment. The fourth is the reinforcement of local government. The last is the improvement of global standard.
