무형자산성 지출이 생산성 향상에 미치는 영향

The Impact of Intangible Expenditures on Firm s Productivity

본 연구에서는 우리나라 상장기업과 코스닥기업을 대상으로 무형자산성 지출이 기업의 생산성 향상에 미치는 영향과 무형자산성 지출수준에 따른 생산성의 차이에 대하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 상장기업에서는 인적자산투자, 연구개발투자, 광고선전비 모두 생산성 향상에 양(＋)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 무형자산성 지출 중 인적자산에 대한 투자는 생산성에 가장 큰 양(＋)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 코스닥기업에 있어서는 연구개발투자만이 모든 연도에서 유의한 양(＋)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 인적자산에 대한 투자와 광고선전비는 일부 연도에서만 유의한 양(＋)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 무형자산성 지출수준에 따른 생산성에 차이가 존재하는지를 검증하기 위하여 추가분석을 실시하였으며, 분석결과 상장기업에 있어서는 인적자산에 대한 투자와 연구개발투자, 광고선전비 모두 투자수준에 따라 생산성에 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 코스닥기업의 경우에는 인적자산에 대한 투자와 연구개발투자에서만 생산성에 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과로 볼 때, 상장기업에 있어서 인적자산투자가 생산성에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 생각되며, 코스닥기업에 있어서는 연구개발투자가 생산성 향상에 커다란 영향을 미치는 것으로 사료된다. 그 동안 단순히 비용으로만 인식되어 왔던 무형자산성 지출이 기업의 생산성 향상에 상당한 영향을 미치고 있음을 고려해 볼 때, 본 연구결과는 무형자산성 지출의 중요성을 다시 한번 더 강조하고 있을 뿐만 아니라 기업의 미래가치창출에 있어서 무형자산에 대한 투자가 매우 중요하다는 것을 함의하고 있다.

This paper empirically examines the impact of intangible expenditures on the productivity of the firms listed on the Korean Stock Exchange(KSE) and KOSDAQ. Also we test there are significant differences in the firm s productivity according to the levels of intangible expenditures. As the results of analysis, intangible expenditures for as human resource, R&D, and advertisement have positive effects on the firms productivity significantly. Especially the expenditure for human resource has more impact on the productivity of firms listed on the Korean Stock Exchange(KSE). But R&D expenditure only affects the productivity of firms listed on the KOSDAQ. We find out that there are significant differences in the firms productivity depend on the levels of intangible expenditures for human resource, R&D and advertisement. This results provide that intangible expenditures for human resource, R&D and advertisement. are very important in creation of firm s future value.
