Design of Expository Text Reading Unit for Reading Competency

역량기반과 이해중심 교육과정으로서 2015 개정 교육과정은 교사 전문성 측면에서 교사의 교육과정 문해력과 단원설계 및 수행능력이 전제가 되므로, 백워드 설계기반의 핵심질문 탐구모형, 시나리오기반 GBS 모형 등을 중심으로 단원설계 선행연구를 탐색하여, 21세기 미래핵심역량으로 주목받는 읽기역량 계발을 위한 설명텍스트 읽기수업 구성 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 이론적 탐색을 기반으로 2015 개정 초등학교 국어과 교육과정 읽기 성취기준을 검토하고, 초등학교 5학년 읽기수업에서 읽기역량 계발에 기여할 수 있는 단원을 선정하여 역량계발을 위한 설명텍스트 읽기수업 구성 절차와 단원설계 사례를 개발하였다. 이 연구는 읽기역량 계발을 위한 읽기수업 개선에 기여하고, 교사교육 프로그램에 필요한 정보를 제공하며, 차기 국어과 교육과정 개발과 국어교과서 읽기단원 구성에 시사점을 줄 것으로 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to design expository text reading unit for reading competency. Since the 2015 revised Korean language curriculum advocates a competency-based and understanding-based curriculum, it is assumed that teachers have curriculum literacy skills and textbook unit design and performance capabilities in terms of teacher expertise. By reviewing the backward design of the course, the question-centered inquiry model, and the GBS model, this paper tried to develop an expository text reading unit design method for developing reading competencies, also expository text reading is the central content in modern reading instruction. Accordingly, the reading unit design procedure was conducted by reviewing the 2015 revised elementary Korean language curriculum reading area achievement standards and selecting units that can contribute to the development of reading competencies in the 5th grade reading class based on previous studies related to unit design. This study findings will be provide implications that contribute to inform and guide for pre-teachers and teachers, as curriculum and unit designer. Then it is expected that there should be a flexible unit system that can be introduced or applied to the reading and inquiry process. In the development of the next new curriculum, it is expected also that curriculum documents that can be understood by teachers will be developed, At this time, it is expected that it will contribute to the statement of specific and elaborate achievement standards based on the development of essential questions.
