『난중일기』속 이순신의 충효관

Yi sun-sin’s Loyalty and Filial piety on 『Nanjung ilki』

임진왜란 당시 임금도 피난 간 나라를 구하기 위해 침략군과 맞서 싸운 이는 이순신의 수군과 백성이 주축이 된 의병이었다. 남해안에서 수군을 이끌던 이순신은 전쟁의 공적에 연연하지 않고, 유비무환과 선공후사를 적극 실천하였다. 독버섯처럼 번지는 병사들의 두려움을 용기로 승화시키기 위해 노력했고, 군율의 확립을 위해서 자식 같이 사랑한 병사의 처형도 서슴지 않았다. 그 결과 강력한 군대를 양성했고, 싸우면 언제나 승리했다. 따라서 이순신의 헌신과 백성의 희생이 없었다면, 임진왜란 당시 조선왕조는 붕괴되었을 것이다. 『난중일기』에는 작자 이순신이 직접 겪은 일들과 전해들은 소식들이 골고루 안배되어 있다. 작성자인 이순신 자신이 일기 속의 주인공으로 행동하고 느꼈던 모든 체험이 구체적으로 서술되어 있는 것이다.『난중일기』속에는 이순신의 국가에 대한 충과 부모에 대한 효의 마음이 절절하게 녹아있다. 어머니에 대한 효가 국가에 대한 충으로 승화되어 군주도 버린 나라를 구한 이순신의 충효관을 읽어낼 수 있는 것이다.

In Nanjung Ilgi, Yi Sun-sin s loyalty to the country and filial piety to his parents are deeply reflected. The filial piety for his mother was sublimated to the loyalty of the nation, and Yi Sun-sin, who saved the country that the monarch had abandoned, could read the loyalty of Yi Sun-sin.
