Analysis of Northeast Asia East Sea Rim Coastal Cruise s Demand and Tourist spending effects: Focused on Korea, Japan, and Russia

The purpose of this study is to analyze the economic effects of the Northeast Asia East Sea Rim coastal cruise. To this end, it is intended to estimate the demand for coastal cruises in the region and the effect of tourist spending due to East Sea Rim coastal cruise operations. For the prediction of tourism demand, a quantitative technique based on historical data was used under the assumption that the past trend will continue in the future. The number of tourists to calculate the tourist spending effect was based on national demand and did not reflect crew spending. The daily consumption per passenger was applied based on the report of the CLIA by separating the home port and the port of call. This study attempted to define coastal cruises in East Sea Rim by reviewing domestic laws related to coastal cruises. In addition, similar overseas cases were also investigated for reference when promoting the East Sea Rim coastal cruise project. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data to analyze the economic ramifications of promoting international coastal cruises in Northeast Asia.
