The Role of Waste Bank in Reducing the Amount of Waste in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Province, Indonesia

Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta province is facing an increase in population and the development of tourism sector, which increases the amount of waste. On the other hand, the local government has a limited allocation of funds for waste management. To overcome this problem, the waste bank targeting to reduce the amount of household waste has been being supported by the local government. This study aims to find out the waste bank impact on reducing the amount of waste in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta province. To test the hypotheses, cross-tabulation and chi-square were used using the SPSS 24 application. The result illustrated that the waste bank had an impact on reducing the amount of waste, the waste bank program did not have a significant and positive impact with the household willingness to bring the waste to waste bank and changing social behavior.
