하안단구에 입지한 구석기유적의 층위와 문화층의 연대

Paleolithic stratigraphy and cutural layer period on river terrace : Sites in Youngnam area

구석기시대 연구에 있어서 층위에 대한 연구는 가장 기초적인 작업이면서 중요한 의미를 가지고 있다. 이러한 배경에서 구석기 유물에 대한 분석뿐만 아니라 퇴적층에 대한 연구가 지속적으로 이루어져 왔다. 한국의 초기 구석기시대의 조사에 있어서 형성된 패러다임은 퇴적층의 형성과정을 이해하는데 많은 도움을 주었다. 하지만 이후 기하급수적으로 증가한 구석기시대 유적에 비해, 이러한 해석은 더 이상 진전되지 않고 있다. 이 글은 하안단구의 형성시기에 대한 최근의 연구성과를 바탕으로, 영남지역을 중심으로 기존의 하안단구에 입지한 구석기유적의 형성시기를 재검토하였다. 하안단구와 고토양층에 대해 기존의 연구성과와 비교를 진행하였고, 새로운 연대폭을 제시하였다. 이에 따르면 하안단구가 비슷한 시기에 형성되었다 하더라도 꼭 동일한 시간대를 반영하는 것은 아니라고 볼 수 있다. 또한 단구층 위에 형성된 고토양층의 시간대 역시 동일할 수 없다. 저위2면에서는 유사한 층위구조가 확인되었고 비슷한 시간대를 경험한 것으로 보인다. 하지만, 저위1면과 중위면에서는 보다 복잡한 층위구조가 확인되었다. 이러한 원인은 저위2면은 형성 이후 커다란 변형을 겪지 않았지만, 저위1면과 중위면에서는 침식과 퇴적작용에 영향을 지속적으로 받은 것에서 기인하는 것으로 판단된다. 유적에서 측정된 절대연대값과 대자율변화를 통해 볼 때 문화층의 시간대를 제시할 수 있었다. 유적에서 확인되는 층위구조는 유적이 입지한 지형적 환경변수에 따라 다양해 질 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

In the study of the paleolithic the study of layers is the most basic work and has an important meaning. In this background, not only the analysis of paleolithic artifacts, but also the study of sedimentary layers has been continuously studied. The paradigm formed in the survey of the early Paleolithic period in Korea helped a lot in understanding the formation process of sedimentary layers. However, compared to the paleolithic sitess that have increased exponentially since then, this interpretation has not progressed any further. This article is based on recent research results on the formation period of river terrace. The period of formation of the paleolithic sites located in river terrace centered on the Yeongnam area was reviewed. A comparison with the previous research results was conducted for the river terrace and the paleosol, and proposed a new period. According to this, if river terrace was formed at the similar time, it is not necessarily the same time period. Also, the time zone of the paleosol formed on the river terrace cannot be the same. In the lower2 terraces, a similar layered structure was viewed, and it seems to have experienced a similar time period. The cause of this is that the lower2 terraces have not undergone significant deformation after formation, it is considered to be due to the continuous influence of erosion and sedimentation in the low1 and middle terraces. The periods of the cultural layer could be suggested through the absolute age value measured at the sites and the change of magnetic susceptibility, but It was hard to say that it was consistent with MIS. It is expected that the layered structure can be varied depending on the geographical and environmental variables where the sites are located.
