An In-depth Study of the Practicum Evaluation Results from the Hotel Managers and Supervisors of the Senior BS HRM Students of the Far Eastern University-Batch SY 2013-2015: An Analysis

The general purpose of this study is to gather significant inputs and adequate evaluations of the different hotel managers and supervisors of the training establishments of the senior BS Hotel and Restaurant Management students enrolled in Hotel Apprenticeship Training course in their training period on the different sections or departments in order to have a deeper analysis and contribution to the holistic experience of the students. The authors of this study had identified very good results from the student’s performance in their required 500 hours up to 800 hours training. The practicum evaluations were very impressive and significant to the acquisition of skills, knowledge and character of the students. The different managers and supervisors of the property very satisfied and delighted how the students did their assigned tasks This three-phase evaluative-survey sought to determine: (a) the status of the students in their actual application of their skills and knowledge from their curriculum that isrelevant and acceptable in the tourism and hospitality industry; (b) help the university in identifying methodologies of improvement; (c) good coordination and linkage between the university and the tourism and hospitality sectors. Using descriptive, comparative and evaluative research designs, a total of institute survey of at least 196 college students who took up Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management is conducted and will serve as the respondents of the study.
