예비교사를 위한 기본공감척도의 개발 및 타당화 연구

Development and Validation of the Pre-service Teacher’s Basic Empathy Scale

본 연구의 목적은 예비교사들의 공감능력을 측정하고 조언하기 위하여 Jolliffe와 Farrington (2006)의 기본공감척도를 예비교사 공감능력 측정에 적합하도록 번안하고 타당화하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 먼저 서울, 경기도 소재 사범대학 학생과 교직이수자, 교육대학원생을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하고 그 결과 취합된 276명의 자료를 바탕으로 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 예비교사용 기본공감척도 측정도구는 17문항 3개 요인으로 구성되었다. 그리고 2차 설문조사 결과 취합된 292명의 자료를 바탕으로 확인적 요인분석을 실시하여 구성요인의 적합도를 확인한 결과, CFI, TLI, GFI RMSEA 등의 지수 값이 모두 권장수용 수준 이상으로 나타나 예비교사의 공감능력을 측정하는데 적합함을 확인하였다. 또한 본 척도와 대인관계 반응지수, 교수효능감 척도와의 상관을 살펴본 결과, 준거타당도가 검증되었다. 신뢰도를 확인한 결과 문항내적합치도는 .88이며, 요인별로는 .73∼.83로 안정적인 척도임을 입증하였다. 이러한 결과는 예비교사용 기본공감척도가 예비교사에게 활용 가능한 타당하고 신뢰성 있는 도구임을 시사해 주고 있다. 본 연구는 예비교사의 공감능력을 평가하고 활용할 수 있는 기본공감척도를 타당화함으로써 향후 예비교사 교육현장에서 교사양성과정 중 예비교사의 공감능력을 측정하고 예비교사의 공감능력을 강화하는데 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to justify the basic empathy scale of Jolliffe and Farrington (2006) to measure the empathic ability of pre-service teachers. An online survey was conducted on students and graduate students in colleges located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. According to results of the exploratory factor analysis of the collected data of 276 participants, the basic sympathy scale for pre-service teachers consisted of 17 questions and 3 factors. In addition, to confirm the criterion-related validity, the correlation between the basic sympathy scale, interpersonal response index, and teaching efficacy scale was examined, and the validity was proved. Reliability analysis showed that this scale was a stable measure. These results suggest that the basic empathy scale for pre-service teachers is a tool that can be used for pre-service teachers. This study will be helpful to measure the empathic ability of pre-service teachers and to strengthen the empathic ability of pre-service teachers in the field of pre-service teacher education.
