헬레니즘 시대 팔레스타인의 정치·사회적 상황이 유대교에 미친 영향에 관한 연구

A Study on the Effects of Palestinian Political and Social Situation on Judaism in the Hellenistic Era : Focus on Messiahism

유대 땅은 3개의 문명이 교차하는 전략적 요젓지로서 팔레스타인과 코일레-시리아지역 중심에 위치한다. 그래서 동방과 서방 사이에서 사회, 문화적 조류의 교량 역할을 한다. 이러한 지정학적 요인으로 이 지역은 대제국들의 치열한 각축전으로 통치권이 자주 교체된다. 그리고 유대인들은 이방의 지배 아래 구약 시대 하나님이 그들의 조상들에게 약속한 말씀이 성취될 것을 믿으며 자신들을 구원해 줄 왕 메시아를 기대하게 된다. 이러한 상황에서 페르시아 시대에 형성된 유대교는 알렉산드로스의 동방 원정으로 헬레니즘과 만나게 된다. 본 연구의 목적은 헬레니즘 시대 팔레스타인의 정치, 사회적 상황에서 헬레니즘화가 유대교, 특히 그들의 메시아사상에 미친 영향에 대해 살펴보는 것이다. 헬레니즘 시대 유대교는 외형적으로 종교, 문화적 자치권이 보장된 상태에서 안정을 유지하게 된다. 반면 내면으로는 헬레니즘화에 순응하는 진보 세력과 이에 저항하는 보수 세력이 등장하게 되었다. 이 두 세력은 율법준수와 대제사장직을 놓고 반목한다. 그리고 이들의 반목과 시리아의 강압적 헬레니즘화 정책으로 마타디아스 가문 중심의 독립투쟁이 촉발되었다. 그 결과 하스모니안 왕조라는 유대 독립 국가를 건설하게 되었다. 하지만 하스모니안 왕조와 경건한 유대인들은 율법준수와 대제사장직에 대한 서로 다른 스펙트럼으로 유대교는 분열한다. 그리고 유대교의 메시아사상은 그들의 역사 가운데 다양성과 연속성을 가지고 점철된다.

Judea is a strategic hub where three civilizations intersect and is located in the heart of Palestine and the Coile Syrian region. Therefore, it served as a bridge between social and cultural trends in the east and west. Due to such geopolitical factors, sovereignty over the region was frequently replaced by fierce battles of the Great Empire. And the Jews, under the rule of a foreign country, come to expect Messiah, the king who will help them, believing that the word that God promised to their ancestors in the Old Testament will be fulfilled. Under these circumstances, Judaism, which was formed during the Persian era, met Hellenism on Alexandros expedition to the east. The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of Hellenism in Palestinian politics and social situations on Judaism, especially their Messiahism. In the Hellenistic era, Judaism maintained stability with its outward appearance guaranteed religious and cultural autonomy. On the other hand, progressive forces adapted to Hellenism and conservative forces opposed to it appeared inside. These two powers were at odds with each other over observance of the law and the position of chief priest. Their antagonism and Syria s coercive Hellenism inspired a struggle for independence led by the Matadias. As a result, they established an independent Jewish state called the Hasmonian dynasty. However, the Hasmonian dynasty and the devout Jews divide Judaism in different spectra of observance of the law and the position of chief priest. And Jewish Messiahism is interspersed with diversity and continuity in their history.
