영어 전치사 학습의 어려움과 접근법

This paper aims at exploring possible difficulties EFL learners can face in learning English prepositions mainly through literature reviews. Some grammatical and semantic factors were identified: the number, the parts of speech, the position, the ellipsis of prepositions were involved in grammatical difficulties, and the number of senses, semantic similarities between different prepositions were causes of problems for English leaners. Three different methods in teaching and learning English prepositions were discussed: the traditional, the collocation, and the prototype methods. It is suggested that utilizing different methods, rather than being obsessed to one way and rejecting another, could contribute more to improving the learners’ competence in English prepositions.
