The Essential Responsibility for YouTube Contents in Particular Churches - Preferential Option for the Correct Doctrine of the Church to the Faithful

한국 사회를 비롯한 대부분의 국가에서는 2020년 1분기를 잠식한 코로나 19로 인해 사람들은 관계하며 살아갈 수밖에 없는 즉, ‘사회적 관계’의 정체성에 변화를 겪게 되었다. 코로나 19로 사회적 거리두기가 일상이 되어 언택트적 사회를 지향하게 되었지만, 우리의 인간으로서의 정체성을 완전히 단절하지는 않았다. 우리는 더 편리하고 안전한 컨택트를 위해 언택트를 받아들이는 것이지, 사람의 정체성을 포기하자는 것은 아니다. 우린 앞으로도 계속 사람끼리 연결되고 함께 살고 일하는 서로가 필요한 그 정체성에는 변화가 없을 것이다. 1인 미디어(유튜브)가 대세를 이루며 다양한 매체를 통해 쌍방향의 관계를 새롭게 형성하고 있기 때문이다. ‘언택트’를 지향하는 ‘뉴 노멀’의 시대인 요즘, 복음과 교회의 가르침을 선포하기 위해서는 매체를 우선적으로 사용하여야 한다는 것을 교회는 잘 알고 있다. 교회는 저작권을 보호하는 데 있어 앞장서야 하며, 매체의 활용에 있어서도 권위가 있어야 한다. 교회는 권위를 지니신 예수님의 가르침을 선포하기 위해 매체를 도덕적이고 성숙하게 활용해야 한다. 교회가 매체를 이렇게 활용한다면, 세상은 수많은 콘텐츠를 앞에 두고선 올바른 선택을 하게 될 것이다. 이런 교회의 가르침에 대한 매체 활용에 있어 감독의 책임은 교구장 주교에게 있음을 전하고자 한다.

In many countries, including South Korea, COVID-19, which impacted the first quarter of 2020, has forced people to relate and live in a certain way, keeping their identities of “social beings”. Although we decided to aim for an “Untact(Un-contact)” society on a daily basis with socially distancing to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we did not completely turn off our human identity. We accept Untact for more convenient and secure contact, not abandoning a person’s identity. We will continue to be connected to each other, living and working together. The nature that we need for each other will not be changed because a large number of one-person media(e.g., YouTube) have formed a new two-way relationship. Today, in the “new normal” era of Untact orientation, the church is well aware that She inevitably uses the media first in order to proclaim the Gospel and profess the teachings of the Church. The Church must take the lead in protecting copyright and have authority in the use of media. In a matured and developed way, the church must utilize the medium for proclaiming the Good News and the teachings of Jesus, who has authority. If the Church uses the medium in the way, the world will make the right choice before overflowing contents. I try to address that local ordinaries have the responsibility to supervise such medium of the ecclesial teachings.
