운영관리를 통한 재무적 성과 향상: 국내 항공회사 사례연구

Financial Performance Improvement by Operations Management: Korean Domestic Airlines Case

본 연구는 재무분석 도구의 하나인 ROIC나무를 운영성과 비교를 위한 도구로 재구성하여 국내 항공사의 수익창출을 위해 투입된 생산 요소들과 투하자본수익률(ROIC) 간 관계를 가시화하였다. ROIC나무를 바탕으로 항공사의 노동생산성과 직원 1인이 창출하는 매출을 통해 현 국내 항공사들의 노동운영 효율성을 비교하고 효율성 개선에 따른 잠재적 감축비용을 측정하였다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 ROIC나무 분석은 비단 항공사 뿐 아니라 여러 형태의 기업에 응용할 수 있다. 생산부서의 성과와 재무부서의 성과 간 관계를 수식의 나열이 아닌 정교한 논리가 내재된 트리구조로 가시화하는 기초적인 방법으로써 기업 내 성과분석 도구의 하나로 활용할 수 있을 것이다. 향후 본 연구가 여러 기업에서 운영효율성 분석 도구이자 기업 내 운영성과와 재무성과 간 상관관계 분석도구로 활용되길 기대한다.

This research develops a ROIC tree as a tool of comparing operations performance of Korean aviation industry and visualize the relationship between key operations performance and return on invested capital(ROIC). We use a ROIC tree to compare airlines labor productivity and profits which are created by one employee and measure the potential costs which can be reduced by improving operations efficiency. The ROIC tree analysis can be used for not only airlines but every type of companies. This analysis is a method of visualizing the relationship between operations and finance departments with not enumerating complicate equations but constructing a simple tree structure which include sophisticate logics. We expect that this research will be used as a tool of operations efficiency and relationship analyses between operations and finance performances in many companies.
