중국유학생의 학업스트레스, 외로움, 언어능력, 자기효능감과 학업중단의도의 구조적 관계

Structural relationship of Chinese student’s academic stress, loneliness, Korean language proficiency, self-efficacy and school dropout intention

본 연구는 중국유학생이 지각한 학업스트레스, 외로움, 언어능력이 자기효능감을 매개로 학업중단의도에 미치는 영향관계를 검증하고, 이러한 변인 간 관계모형에서 성별에 따른 차이가 나타나는지를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2019년 8월 온라인조사를 통해 국내 대학에 재학 중인 중국유학생 610명(남 254명, 여 356명)으로부터 수집한 자료를 구조방정식모형을 사용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 중국유학생의 언어능력과 학업스트레스는 자기효능감에 영향을 미치며 외로움, 자기효능감은 학업중단의도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유학생의 자기효능감은 학업스트레스와 학업중단의도와의 관계에서, 언어능력과 학업중단의도와의 관계에서 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 유학생의 학업중단의도와 학업중단의도에 영향을 주는 요인들 간의 관계에서 성별에 따른 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 남자의 경우 동기부여 요인인 자기효능감이 학업중단의도에 부적 영향을 미치는 반면, 여자의 경우 정서적 요인인 외로움이 학업중단의도에 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

This study aimed to verify the relationship between the academic stress, loneliness, and Korean language proficiency of Chinese students on school dropout intention by mediating of self-efficacy, and to see if there are gender difference in the relationship between these variables. To achieve this, data from 610 Chinese students (254 males and 356 females) attending Korean universities were collected through an online survey and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling. As a results, fist of all, Korean language proficiency and academic stress affected self-efficacy, loneliness, and self-efficacy affected school dropout intention. Second, self-efficacy has been shown to have a mediating effect in the relationships between academic stress and school dropout intention, and in the relationship between Korean language proficiency and school dropout intention. Third, it has been shown that there were gender differences in the relationships of variables affecting the school dropout intention. In other words, self-efficacy, a motivational factor for men, affects the school dropout intention, while emotional factor like loneliness for women affects the school dropout intention.
