초급 한국어 기관 통합 교재의 발음 편 개선 방안 연구

A study to improve pronunciation units in Korean integrated textbooks for beginners

본 연구의 목적은 기관 통합 교재의 발음 편 구성과 학습 내용을 비교 분석하여 문제점을 파악하고 발음 편 개선 방안을 제시하는 것이다. 본 연구는 이를 위해 2010년 이후에 출판된 서울권 대학 기관 통합 교재 6권을 선정하여 서종학(2001)과 이해영(2001)의 분석 이론을 참고하여 분석 기준을 정하고 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과, 발음 편 구성의 문제점으로는 분량, 학습 목표 부재, 연습 문제의 단조로운 구성을 들 수 있다. 또한 학습 내용의 경우, 개별 음소를 나누는 기준이 각 교재마다 통일되지 않아 단모음 개수나 자음 개수가 다르게 구성되어 있었고 몇몇 교재에서는 조음적·음운적 특징보다는 글자 정보나 사전식 순서로 제시되어 학습자들에게 혼란을 주는 문제의 소지가 있었다. 또한 대부분의 교재는 자모를 제시하기만 할 뿐 자모에 대한 충분한 설명을 제공하지 않았으며, 발음 기호와 로마자와 섞어 제시되거나 올바른 발음 기호를 사용하지도 않았다. 마지막으로 대부분의 교재에서 겹받침 학습 내용이 빠져 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 발음 편의 이런 문제점을 개선하기 위해서, 각 기관 통합 교재는 단모음 개수나 자음 개수를 통일시켜야 하며, 조음적·음운적 특징을 바탕으로 자모를 제시해야 한다. 또한 학습자들이 수업 후에도 혼자 복습할 수 있도록 조음 위치와 조음 방법 등을 시각적 자료로 제시하고 영어로 된 쉬운 자모 설명을 제시할 필요가 있다. 또한 발음 기호를 제시할 때도 올바른 국제 음성 기호를 제시하여 학습자들이 올바른 발음을 습득할 수 있도록 개선해야 한다.

The aim of this thesis is to analyze and to compare Korean pronunciation units in the integrated textbooks recently published by language education institutes of 6 universities in Korea. This study showed some problems related to pronunciation units of Korean integrated textbooks and suggested the ways to develop more informative and improved teaching materials in the Korean integrated textbooks. The results of this study are summarized as follows. The integrated textbooks have problems in the way to explain korean consonants and vowels. They have different rules and concepts when counting the number of consonants and vowels in Korean pronunciation and when classifying a monophthong and a diphthong in vowels and lax, aspirated, and tense in consonants. Also they have only simple explanation or no explanation about Korean pronunciation. Lastly, they don t use exact IPA to describe the phonetic value. Even they don’t have unified rules in using IPA or Romanizaion. Therefore, these problems found in the integrated textbooks must be modified and improved consistently in the next edition for learners and teachers.
