Purpose Recently, as the volume of goods transported by container terminal has increased or decreased due to the large size of the vessels, the container terminal has been required a lot of investment time in Planner according to the large size of the vessels. Accordingly, How much can reduce the difference between the planning and work operation at the vessel is understood as important element improving the productivity and the efficiency of the equipment in the container terminal. Design/Methodology/Approach In this study, I suggested suitable loading and discharging planning basic pattern according to actual status of domestic and international container terminal and analyzed the effect influencing to the productivity of terminal when the Planner applying loading and discharging planning patterns at domestic and international container terminal actually operating. Findings The result of comparing and analyzing the basic pattern of vessel loading and discharging planning with similar patterns of the vessels loading and discharging planning, the productivity of GP(Gross Productivity) and NP(Net Productivity) which are productivity indicators at domestic and international the container terminal can be a little more increased when the Planner planning using loading and discharging planning basic pattern. Research Implications In this study, the basic patterns of vessel loading and discharging planning were presented and analyzed according to the actual domestic and international container terminals. In addition, The basic patterns of vessel loading and unloading planning were compared and analyzed with similar patterns of vessel loading and unloading planning, and the effect on handling time and productivity of the vessel was analyzed and presented.
