프로페셔널리즘 교육관으로 보는 교육전문성

The Specialty of Education from the Perspective of Education Based in Professionalism

대학의 교양교육과정에는 핵심적으로 프로페셔널리즘 교육관이 자리하고 있다. 교양교육을 통해서 인간의 삶을 볼 때 프로페셔널리즘이 핵심적인 역할을 하기 때문이다. 프로페셔널리즘은 간단하게 번역하면 전문성을 지칭하지만 그 때 말하는 전문성이라는 의미가 무엇을 말하는 것인지는 보다 세세한 설명이 필요하다. 이 글에서는 프로페셔널리즘을 중요하게 여기는 대학의 교양교육에서 프로페셔널리즘의 내용을 기반으로 한 교육자의 역할을 숙고해 보려고 한다. 즉 나중에 교육자가 될 학생들에게도 프로페셔널리즘에 대해 생각할 기회와 시간을 갖고 추후 어떤 교육자가 될 것인지 중요한 기준의 하나로 제안해 볼 수 있는 개념임을 보여주려고 하는 것이다.

The liberal arts curriculum provided by the universities is a core institution for professionalism education. This is because it plays a key role for those students who will become educators in the future. At first blush, professionalism seems like a simple enough concept to understand, but a closer look reveals that a more nuanced and detailed explanation of it is required. In this article, I will consider the role of those educators who regard professionalism as important, based on the contents of professionalism in liberal arts education of universities that regard professionalism as important. In other words, I intend to show that students who will become educators in the future have both the opportunity and the time to think about professionalism, and to further suggest that it is one of more important prerequisites required in becoming an educator.
