기혼 여성의 자아분화 유형에 따른 정서 문제의 차이

Differences in Emotional Problems According to the types of Self-Differentiation Among Married Women: Focused on Hwa-Byung Symptoms and Suppression of Emotional Expression

본 연구는 한국 기혼 여성을 자아분화 수준에 따라 유형화하고 각 유형에서 화병 증상과 정서표현억제에 차이가 나타나는지를 탐색적으로 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 기혼 여성 308명으로부터 자료를 수집하였고, 수집된 자료를 잠재 프로파일 분석을 사용하여 유형화한 후 다변량분석을 사용하여 각 유형간의 차이를 확인하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기혼 여성은 자아분화의 다섯 가지 하위요인에 따라 단절 및 퇴행적 분화형, 보통 수준의 분화형, 건강한 분화형의 세 가지 유형으로 분류되었다. 연구 참여자 중 16.6%가 대인 관계적 차원에서 낮은 분화를 보이는 단절 및 퇴행적 분화형에 속하는 것으로 나타났다. 자아분화 유형에 따라 자아분화의 하위요인 중 자아통합을 제외한 인지 대 정서적 기능, 가족투사 과정, 정서적 단절, 가족 퇴행 요인에서의 차이가 유의하였다. 둘째, 자아분화 수준이 더 높은 하위유형이 낮은 하위유형에 비해 화병의 핵심 증상, 신체적 증상, 정신적 증상을 더 적게 경험하였으며, 정서 표현을 덜 억제하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 화병의 문화적 심리학적 토대를 확인할 수 있었다.

The present study aimed to identify Korean married women according to the level of self-differentiation and to investigate whether there is a difference in Hwa-Byung symptoms and suppression of emotional expression. For this purpose, data were collected from 308 married women, and classified by using the Latent Profile Analysis. The differences among subgroups were confirmed using the Multivariate Analysis of Variance. The results are as follows. First, married women were classified into three types according to five sub-factors of self-differentiation: Cutoff and Regressive Undifferentiation, Moderate Differentiation, Sound Differentiation. The Cutoff and Regressive Undifferentiation subgroup which showed the lowest level of interpersonal differentiation formed 16.6% of the participants. There were significant differences in the intellectual versus emotional function, family projection process, emotional cutoff, family regression, excluding integration of self, among the sub-factors of self-differentiation according to sub-groups. Second, subgroups with higher self-differentiation level experienced fewer vital symptoms, physical symptoms, and mental symptoms than the lower subgroups, and showed less suppression of emotional expression. Through this study, we could confirm the cultural and psychological foundation of Hwa-Byung.
