부부의 가사노동 동기화 수준이 아내의 가사분업만족도에 미치는 효과

The Effects of Couples’ Housework Time Synchro Level on Wives’ Satisfaction About Division of Household Labour

본 연구는 아내의 가사분업만족도에 영향을 미치는 인구사회학적 요인들을 탐색하는데 연구 목적을 두고 있다. 구체적으로는 남편과 아내가 어떤 종류의 가사활동을 해야 아내의 가사분업만족도가 증가하는지, 그리고 이 활동들을 배우자와 함께 하는 것이 아내의 가사분업만족도를 높일지, 홀로 하는 것이 아내의 가사분업만족도를 높일지 실증적으로 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해서 통계청 생활시간조사 2014년 시간대 자료로 주중 외벌이, 주중 맞벌이, 주말 외벌이, 주말 맞벌이 부부를 집단별로 구분한 다음 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과에 따르면 다음과 같은 사실을 알 수 있었다. 첫째, 모든 집단에서 아내의 핵심가사노동시간량이 증가할수록 아내의 가사분업만족도가 감소한다. 둘째, 주말 외벌이 집단을 제외하면 남편의 핵심가사노동시간량이 증가할수록 아내의 가사분업만족도는 감소했다. 셋째, 주말 외벌이 부부의 경우 아내가 핵심가사를 홀로 수행할수록 가사분업만족도가 낮아졌다. 넷째, 주중 맞벌이와 주말 외벌이 집단의 경우 남편이 핵심가사를 홀로 수행하는 비율이 높을수록 아내의 가사분업만족도가 증가하였다. 이상의 분석결과가 가지는 이론적 함의는 아내의 가사분업만족도가 부부의 가사노동 동기화 정도에 따라 증감할 수 있다는 사실을 확인했다는 점이다. 방법론적 함의는 시간대 변수를 활용하여 통계적으로 유의미한 효과가 확인되는 새로운 변수를 생성했다는데 있다. 실천적 함의는 아내의 가사분업만족도가 높아지기 위해서는 남편들이 아내가 핵심가사노동을 하지 않을 때 핵심가사노동을 해야 한다는 점을 강조했다는 점에서 찾을 수 있다.

My dependent variable is wives’ satisfaction about division of housework labour. My research question is what factors affects wives’ satisfaction about division of housework labour. To be more specific, I focus on kinds of housework and how much time couples do housework together. Then I analyze Korean Time Use Survey data in 2014. According to the analysis results, husbands’ doing core-housework has positive effects and wives’ doing core-housework has negative effects on wives’ satisfaction about division of housework labour. Also, wives’ core-housework time ratio to do it alone decrease wives’ satisfaction. Finally, husbands’ core-housework time to do it alone increase wives’ satisfaction about division of housework labour. This research’s theoretical implication is focusing couples’ degree of time-synchro doing housework. Generating this variable and emphasizing its’ significance is this paper’s substantive implication. In order to increase wives’ satisfaction, husbands have to do housework when their wives stay away from their house because doing housework with their wives cannot reduce wives’ housework burden.
