Different Writing, Different Art: A Very Ordinary Theory of Seoye Nature

이 글은 서예의 본성과 가치에 대한 연구가 도덕감정에 기초한 정서적 영향관계 형성과 통합적 성숙에 초점을 맞춰 규명될 필요가 있다는 문제의식에서 출발한다. 유교철학의 기초개념이자 일상어인 정감(情感) 개념을 중심으로 서예의 본성과 가치를 규명하는 것이 이 글의 목적이다. 이 글에서는 정감이라는 단어를 감정이나 정서, 또는 느낌과 구별하여 사용한다. 정감은 ‘도덕감정’을 가리킨다. 그리고 정감은 ‘도덕감정에 기초한 타자와의 정서적 영향관계 구축’을 의미한다. 또한 정감은 ‘통합적 성숙’이라는 의미를 아울러 지닌다. 이 세 가지 의미에 기초하여 서예는 다른 유형의 글씨와 구별되는 ‘다른 글씨’이며, 또한 다른 장르의 예술과도 구별되는 ‘다른 예술’임을 논증하고자 한다. 왜 ‘다른 글씨, 다른 예술’인가? 서예가 ‘다른 글씨, 다른 예술’임이 드러나면, 서예의 본성과 가치는 자연스럽게 부각된다. 서예는 과연 ‘다른 글씨, 다른 예술’인가? 정감 개념으로 그것을 타당하고 적절하게 설명할 수 있는가? 도덕성을 중시하는 전통을 따르고, 예술적 가치와 미적 가치를 배타적인 관계로 보지 않는 것이 지배적인 경향임을 고려하면, ‘정감’은 서예의 본성과 가치를 설명하는데 적절한 개념이라고 할 수 있다. ‘정서 함양과 온기의 발산’은 서예를 ‘다른 글씨, 다른 예술’로 만들어 준다. 이 실천적 과제의 수행도 결국은 정감의 의미규정에 기초하여 이루어져야 하며, 또 실제로 정감과 밀접한 관련이 있다. 이로써 서예의 인성교육적 의의를 논할 수 있는 여지도 마련된다.

This article begins with a sense of problem that Seoye’s study of nature needs to be identified focusing on the formation of emotional impact relationships based on moral feelings and integrated maturation. The purpose of this article is to identify the nature and value of Seoye, focusing on the concept of effect, the basic concept and everyday language of Confucianism. In this article, the word ‘affect’ is used to distinguish feelings from emotions, emotions, or feelings. Affect refers to ‘moral feelings’. And Affect means ‘building emotional influences with others based on moral feelings’. Affection also means ‘integrative maturity’. Based on these three meanings, it is intended to prove that Seoye is a ‘different writing’ distinct from other types of writing, and that it is also a ‘different art’ distinct from other types of genre art. Why ‘different writing, different art’? When Seoye is revealed to be ‘different writing, different art’, Seoye’s nature and value naturally emerge. Is Seoye ‘different writing, different art’? Can the concept of effect explain it reasonably and appropriately? Considering that it is the dominant tendency to follow the tradition of valuing morality and not view artistic and aesthetic values as exclusive relationships, ‘Affect’ is an appropriate concept to explain the nature and value of Seoye. Emotional development and the release of warmth make Seoye ‘different writing, different art’. The performance of this practical task must eventually be based on the meaningful provisions of Affect, and is actually closely related to sentiment. This gives room to discuss the meaning of character education throuh Seoye.
