A Study of the Contribution/Limitation and Development Plans of Korean Church History’s Historical View

본 논문의 목적은 한국 교회사의 역사관에 대한 성찰(공헌과 한계) 및 발전 방안을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 본 논문은 다음의 연구 과정을 수행한다. 첫째, 2장에서는 본격적인 논의에 앞서 하나의 배경 설정으로서 한국 교회사의 역사관을 살펴보기 위해 선택된 연구자들을 중심으로 그들의 역사관을 살펴보고자 한다. 둘째, 3장은 앞서 언급한 새로운 패러다임에 대한 시대적 요청인 디지털/그린 패러다임 전환(한국형 뉴딜 정책)과 빅 히스토리의 필요성을 고려하면서, 2장에서 도출된 한국 교회사 연구자들의 역사관의 공헌과 한계를 논하고자 한다. 셋째, 4장은 새로운 역사관을 제시한 학자들의 연구 성과를 중심으로 앞서 3장에서 논의한 내용을 중심으로 발전적 방향을 모색한다. 마지막 장은 필자의 의견과 본 논문의 공헌과 한계(추후 과제)를 언급한다.

The purpose of this study is to reflect upon Korean church history’s historical views and to discuss its contribution/limitation and development plans. To achieve this, I will undertake the following procedures: First, as a background of this research, section two explores the process of change in the views of selected Korean church historians’ with regards to the context of Western and Korean historical academia. Specifically, I will focus more on the concepts of history (what is history?) in their work. Second, section three deals with contribution/limitation and development plans, considering the Digital/ Green New Deal and big history. Third, section four looks into alternatives to overcome the problems examined in section three that are suggested by the new historical views of the scholars we have examined. Finally, I will sum up the previous sections and suggest my opinion, strengths, and weaknesses of this paper. The contribution of this paper is to present the previous historical views of Korean church historians and encourage scholars to expand their historical view.
