복식에 기능주의 특성이 미친 영향 비교 분석:

Comparative Analysis of the Effects of Functionalist Characteristics on Costume: Focusing on Modern Clothing and Fusion Traditional Attire

트렌드와 라이프스타일의 변화에 다른 과장되고 복잡한 디자인이 범람하는 시대 속에서 본 연구의 목적은 실용성과 기능성이 중시되는 기능주의 패션 트렌드의 본질을 사회․문화적 배경에서 이해하고, 패션에서 나타나고 있는 기능주의적 경향의 특성을 고찰하여 현대복식과 퓨전 전통복식의 기능주의 특성을 사례를 통해 서로 비교⋅분석하여 그 특성을 정의하고자 한다. 이에 문헌 연구와 현대·전통복식에 나타나는 특성을 사례를 통해 비교·분석하여 살펴본 결과는 다음과 같다. 2000년대의 기능주의는 기존의 테크노 기능주의, 일상적 기능주의, 순수 기능주의, 상징적 기능주의에서 테크노·디지털 기능주의, 스포츠·캐쥬얼 기능주의, 미니멀기능주의, 상징·심볼 기능주의로 변화되어 새롭게 재정립되는 결과를 얻었다. 이는 현대 패션 트렌드를 이해할 수 있는 지표로서 기능주의 스타일 연구는 새로운 트렌드 형성과 대중화 과정의 이해를 돕는 것에서 그 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이라 판단된다. 또한, 퓨전 전통복식을 현대복식과 비교하여 살펴봄으로써 앞으로 퓨전전통복식의 현대화에 한 발 더 다가설 수 있는 지침이 되길 기대해본다.

In an era when exaggerated and complicated design has been prevalent along with trend and lifestyle changes, this study attempted to i) understand the social and cultural backgrounds of the nature of functionalist fashion trends where practicality and functionality are emphasized, ii) review the characteristics of functionalist tendencies and iii) comparatively analyze and define the functionalist aspects of modern costume and fusion traditional attire. For this, a literature review was conducted, and the characteristics of modern and traditional clothes were comparatively analyzed through case studies. The results found the following: In the 2000s, functionalism has been newly reestablished through a transition from techno-, regular-, pure- and symbolic-functionalism to techno/digital-, sports/casual-, minimal- and symbolic- functionalism. It appears that a study of functionalist styles is meaningful in that it is helpful in understanding the formation and popularization of new trends as an indicator to understand modern fashion trends. It is also anticipated that this study would be a guideline to take a step closer to the modernization of fusion traditional attire by comparing it with modern style of dressing.
